07 Silverado Transmission Pump

I bought a 2007 Silverado Crew cab 4x4 in August and after 2 months and 4700 miles it is at the dealership having the tranny pump replaced. Am I alone on this or has anyone else had this issue?

Any feedback on this would be great.

I bet you will find this is very rare, you probably have the 4L60E transmission, and provided it is not abused or subjected to larger amounts of power and heat, it is a fairly trouble free transmission.

Sorry to hear about your transmission pump. What kinds of transmission symptoms were you having before you needed to take it to the dealer?

I'm about ready to take mine back for the second time. I've had the rear main seal redone, and now I'm having intermittent problems with the thermostat control on my heater (I'm pretty sure M. Cueva figured this one out for me though).

I'm with asilverblazer in hoping that this is just a rare issue.

Good luck.

As with any device there are faults so bare with it.

Agreed.

I think anything can and will fail a small percentage of the time.... too bad you got the one that did. I bet the fix works and you have no more issues.

its a pump that resides on the input shaft that provides the hyd pressure to clutch plates that releases or holds planitary gear sets. This gives you all those different gears.

but there is the converter and the valve body which are the other main parts.
