And I really appreciate everybody who chimed in on my threads about upgrading trucks.

 

If you happen to be a GM employee, NOW is the time to make a move.

 

I upgraded two full model years for a paltry $3700. Absolutely unbelievable deal. And I'd be a complete fool to pass it up.

 

Dealer (my employer) gave me any discount you can think of, AND gave me "extra-clean" trade in value on my 06 Sierra.

 

For you shoppers: there is an "old-invoice" discount going on right now. Any 08 pickup invoiced before August (??-check with your dealer) gets another $2000 rebate.

 

GM employee GMS price, National rebate, Chicago Auto Show discount, Old-Invoice bonus. 4 rebates knocked a $34k truck to the low-$20k area.

 

My NBS was invoiced late June...but like I said check with your dealer.

 

GM wants these "older" 2008 pickups off the lots...like NOW.

My trade was a 2006 GMC Sierra, SLE-2 options, Z-71 Extended Cab with Dark green exterior, tan cloth interior. 6,700 miles on it.

 

Dealer slashed a $34k MSRP on my new 2008 Sierra down to $23,700 due to extensive rebates

 

Dealer also gave me $20,000 on my trade. It "booked" or "wholesaled" at $17,000. But, they are desperate for sales, AND they will be able to sell my old 06 rapidly due to the low miles.

 

Dealers in my area are hurting...it's been a long winter. Also, use patience.
