I must live under a rock. I have heard of these editions but don't have a clue what they are or how many diffrent ones are made. Is this a local dealer package or a factory option?

I have a Texas Edition LT. Very nice truck. This should be a good thread. I'll get some pics up soon.

My buddy just bought an 08' Silverado, and the package was called All American.

So are these options through GM or a local dealer? Nice truck by the way.

I had a Texas edition 05 Crewcab. The only difference was badging (which I removed) and a tow package. There wasn't ONE item on the truck that wasn't a regular option. Supposedly the Texas edition was an option package and it did save me money. (which I am all for) but all I got from it was a tow package and some badges.

It was a really nice truck though! I still have one of the badges on my toolbox.

My Texas Edition came with the 5.3L V8 w/AFM, 20" polished aluminum wheels, Trailering package, Locking Diff., and High perf. suspension.

Also a $675.00 Package discount. The Texas Edition badge on the tailgate is one of my favorite things about my truck, but you know us Texans, if it say's or looks like Texas it goes in the collection. :uhoh:

That's really cool. I think the newer trucks come with a much better Texas Edition package deal. Mine was a sweet truck but I had to add my own 20 inch wheels!

A few years back they had the Chevy Avalanche Avalanche edition here in Colorado

No kidding. I wonder what genius focus group came up with that one! Next thing you know in California they will be selling GMC Sierras as.... well I'll let you guys figure that one out...

Hey I built my new Sierra for only 45000, crew cab, z71 with the 6.0 lt engine. Only three years until my current truck is paid off!

From what i have heard, is that most of the packages are renamed and might have 1 or two different thing from the other, but for the most part are just marketing methods. Example, the Texas Edition, if you live up north, would you really want to buy a Texas Edition truck, not reallly, has nothing to do with Texas, but if you see it as a NFL or Etc, it's easier to market for different regions.
