Door Handle Problems

has anyone had problems with the inside door handles? i'm getting ready to take my truck back to the dealer for the 3rd time on a 4 week old truck. I had the truck for 2 weeks when the front passangers side INSIDE door handle stopped working. The rod/cable had popped off the latch. The dealer fixed it and the next day it broke again. I took it back and they popped it back on again. They then realized that the whole latch assembly needed to be replaced. They said the latch assembly is on national back order and i may not receive it until as late as may 9th. This will be my 3rd time back to the dealer for the same problem. I contacted a lemon law lawyer and they are looking into building a case. The dealer said there was no TSB on this so has anyone else had this happen or heard of this??

lemon law over a door handle that can be fixed as soon as the part becomes avail is a bit extreme dont ya think. somewhere i hear a judge laughing

i've made 2 trips to a dealer 30 minutes away and spent a collective 3-4 hours at the dealer, awaiting on my 3rd trip. the truck is 4 weeks old and the door handle has been broken 2 weeks, and it looks like i have to wait another 2-3 weeks for a replacement. say for instance i get in a bad car accident (god forbid) and my fiance needs to get out of the vehicle in a hurry. how do you suppose she gets out if the door handle is broken?? keep in mind in a serious accident most likely the truck will shut off hence no power for her to roll her POWER window down with? I'm an ex emt and a cop and this MINOR problem could turn into something VERY serious. As for the lemon law in NJ it states

"The New Jersey Lemon Law applies to new cars, both purchased and leased, which suffer a nonconformity; a defect or condition, which substantially impairs the use, value or safety; that cannot be repaired after three attempts by an authorized manufacturer's dealership. This nonconformity must first occur within the first 24 months or 18,000 miles, whichever comes first. The New Jersey Lemon Law also applies to vehicles that are in the shop for repair twenty (20) or more calendar days during the first year."

So why not get GM to pay for my time and gas of this hassle??
