Alright well my goal is to get 325-350 mpg's on a tank of gas that will be extremely cost effective for me and how much money i make right now will be able to afford for a long time... that way i can save up money in the summer

i bought a K&N and clamped it it nice and tight with vasoline for a really good seal and i took off the cover so i pretty much have a CAI, and i also have to change the spark plugs and fuel filter...... i also have a pin head sized hole in the muffler so that will be getting changed soon enough... and right now i have only gotten 275 miles on a tank.

btw i drive it like i bought it, the truck has never been above 2,500 RPM's since ive owned it lol....so im wondering what else wears on a truck that loses mpgs over time?

and please keep the "its a truck it doesnt get good mpgs" to a minimum please

ditch the K&N.

That is exactly why I told you I had one for sale for that truck. On my '98 the mileage dropped 2mpg with that filter. I put a Delco in and got it back.

Not starting anything, just telling the truth about what happened with my '98.

Just where would the pin sized hole in the muffler be located? If it on the rear at the bottom, it is a drain hole to let mosture out. If you plug it your muffler will rust out fairly quick.

Same with my 07... the K&N filter element caused a 1-2mpg DECREASE.

Tossed it out of the truck and went with a GMPP CAI instead. Mush better throttle response and low end response. It MAY have helped a tiny bit on mpg, but the other gains far out-weighed the potential mpg increase.

Keep your tires up to proper air pressure. Keep stock tire size on. Larger tires use more gas "roll resistance"

Obtain a scan tool to check you air / fuel ratio. check for a lazy O2 sensor

Here is a inexpensive scan tool, free software OBDII scan tool

And speed kills, Keep maximum highway speed under 65

If I am not mistaken Magnaflows can be used in either direction. So any 2 to 1 should work.

So, we are allowed a few "it's a truck it doesn't get good mpgs," right? Well, in that case, there ya go!

As I always say, starting today, "Mod for Performance, not MPG." But good luck with all of that.
