Here is a quick synopsis. I am travelling to around the country starting monday. I was picking up a 2008 Silverado at my first destination in IL, around O'hare or in the nearby area. I had a dealership(Classic Chevrolet) find my truck. They faxed me a price with the vehicle breakdown and i put a deposit on the truck. This was wednesday. They called me Saturday morning to inform they had sold the truck....AAAHHH. They then tried to give me crap about if i was going to go and buy another vehicle somewhere else and didnt want to help us find another. They repeatadly hung up on my wife and I.

So here it is I am arriving in IL monday and have to buy a vehicle ASAP. I have been calling dealerships all day long and no one seems to want to put out any effore to help. Even though I already have financing and Cash Payment and dont need to test drive it or anything.

So, sorry to be long winded but does anyone have accesss to do a specific vehicle search and tell me what dealership it would be at...(every dealer keeps telling me they dont have it but they can find it)

Send me a message or a reply and Ill tell you what Im looking for Please, I am in a bind here

That really seems strange that in these times, where truck sales are far and few between, that nobody would jump at the chance to get a quick sale. You must be saying something wrong, or have a price in mind that nobody is willing to sell at.

In my 13 years in the car business, I've never seen anything like that.

not wanting to steal your thread here but i know what you guys are talking about when you say that its weird these dealers are being this way... when i went up to our local chevy dealership the supposed #1 chevy dealership in illinois i looked at an 08 silverado.. plane jane but it had some appearance package.. the sticker price was 20k... written in huge letters... so i sit down with the guy... turns out they forgot to list the 10K appearance package on the sticker... needless to say i walked... for the 3rd time in a year there... these dealerships just play way to many games...

hope you find what your looking for tho! sucks that people can be so shallow...

The old Bait and Switch!!!

Sad isn't it. And then they wonder about the "Used Car Salesman", I'll bet he was wearing a cheesy liesure suite with the elbow patches. Kinda like Herb Tarlic on WKRP.

I'm sure you're on the up and up, but something about this whole ordeal seems strange . . .

Maybe you need to change your whole approach. :D

Good luck.

Only thing missing was Billy hawking it for $ 19.95, but only if you call now, will you get 2 for the price of one!.....

Sad thing is there are some dumbasses out there that will want to know where this dealership is.....

Hi there and welcome to the forums!

That is totally weird and unbelievable that the dealerships would do things like that to you. One would think giving the economy lately that dealerships and sales people would do all they can to bring in customers and make sales.

I know there are still lots of good dealerships and sales people out there, but I've heard numerous stories about many different manufacturers and dealers being 'odd' to customers.

I guess customers just have to be more wary and do more research up front for recommended dealers.

But lots of good luck to you in getting the truck you need there.
