My Real World Highway Mpg

Recommended Posts

Posted

Just thought I would share my real world mileage that I ran this last weekend.

Little Rock, AR to Dallas, TX (Galleria Maill to be exact)

316 miles one way. My DIC reported 18.1 MPG down there, and 18.0 MPG back.

I reset the DIC when I pulled out fo the gas station next to my house on the way down., and did the same when leaving Dallas.

A few notes.

My truck is totally stock except for added OEM GM nerf bars and my factory airdam / valance has been removed from the truck.

I ran 32 psi in my tires, checked before I left LR.

I also ran regular unleaded gas, and 70MPH on cruise the whole way.

Although not to impressed, I am happy with the MPG I am getting.

Just thought I would share.

that sounds about on par. I manage about 17 MPG with 4.10 gears at 70 MPH. My DIC is never anywhere near accurate. I'm usually off by 2 MPG when comparing the DIC's readout and my real world numbers. It looks impressive to my passengers though, lol

WOW... that's a 4x4 CrewCab too. Really good real world mileage. I can do almost 19.5 in my truck on long highway runs, but it's lighter and 2WD.

Sorry... double post.

I'm not sure why it does that?

Because you click too much! :D:thumbs:

I realize that but I'm not double clicking. It's happened a few times to me this week. I think I might just have to replace the batteries in this mouse.

thats pretty good, I get about the same. Its not what I would like, but I wont complain because by inlaws only get 13 in their durango, and thats with the 4.7... I think! Father-in-law says he can get 15mpg downhill with a 30mph wind pushing him, if he lets it coast down the hill! He says he will trade it in for a GM in the spring.

You fit right in with the rest of society, Jim! Blame the mouse, not yourself!

After that other thread last night, I couldn't resist...:D

The TEXAS thread?

Everybody missed the point. I was asking what everybody liked about THEIR state but it turned into an all Texas (and a little Alaska) event.

Sorry about the hijack Hodo.
