So, yesterday I was at the bank and parked behind a sierra gmt900. As I was waiting I was looking out the window and comparing trucks. I noticed that the beds on the trucks were different. The fenders were designed different the Silverado was more swept and went the length of the bed (5'8"box) where as the sierra was more just over the wheel well like like the older style with the flares on them. Also noticed the front fender was a little different on each as well. The silverado comes right out of the headlights while the sierra has a little space behind the light. What does the crowd prefer? Or did anyone notice that difference i know i didn't till they were right next to each other? Well I'm sure it has been pointed out before but I just noticed it and thought I would share.

I thought it was obvious . I prefer the Silverado, the lines are not so stereotypical truckish. The Sierra is "so done before", when you follow the body creases of the Silverado they are actually quite unique as far as trucks go, while still keeping the truck looking like a truck. Sort of like the Ram, still looks like a truck, but not like any of the other ones. Same goes for the Tundra but in a bad way, a very bad way. :barf:

Good job, Eagle Eye!

I prefer the tougher body lines of the sierra and the full chrome bumper.

i prefer the Silverado fenders/box-sides. best of both worlds: Sierra grill + Silverado fenders/box-sides.

I agree with that, if you could get the Sierra front end with the Chevy body I would be all over it. As-is, I can live with the Silverado front end if it means I don't have to have the very antique-ish fender flares of the GMC.

As usual....

Sierra > Silverado

:D

+1

I felt so strongly about it that I sold my '07 GMT900 Silvy to get the Sierra that I have now.

Serisouly though, there were other factors that played into that decision to upgrade trucks. However, I do like the fenders and bed on the Silverado better but I like the Sierra front end MUCH better. Larger tires fill out the wheel wells of the Sierra very nicely though and gives an aggressive look. Either way, they are both great looking trucks....just personal opinion.

I didn't like the "face" of the Silverado but love it on the GMC. Once I got the GMC I noticed the difference in the fenders and do prefer it over the Silverado. If you like the look of the Silverado then it's a better purchase from a servicing standpoint since there are far more dealer choices with Chevy in most area.

The front end of the GMC is miles ahead of the Chevy.

But I think the fenders on the GMC are just FUGLY, especially the bed. Too round and smooth and wimpy looking.
