Difference Between Bb Tune And Superchips Cortex

Well, I'm ready to upgrade my program in my truck. I have an 04 GMC 1500 Z71 with the 5.3 powerplant.

Can you guys please help me make an informed decision here? I'm stuck between the BlackBear tune and the Superchips Cortex. I like the Cortex because i can read and reset trouble codes, but everything I've read here suggests that a tune from Justin is the way to go.

My truck is my daily driver. It has a weld in Magnaflow and a drop in K&N filter. It tows an enclosed trialer frequently and I would like to get some more power out of it for driving in town and more low end grunt for pulling my trailer.

If you suggest to go with the BlackBear tune, which one should I get? I have done a little research and have browsed the website and have noticed that there are different options in the way it is tuned. Which is the best route here?

You just tell Justin what you do with your truck (Towing,daily driver,etc.) and what you've done to your truck (Magnaflow,K&N) and he'll know what to do,Trust me....YOU WON'T BE SORRY!!!

The difference will be night and day between the two. Justin makes it easy. He has done this a million times and he will walk you through it and make suggestions. Plus, if something isn't just how you want it or you do more upgrades (ie cam, headers, etc) he retunes for free for life. Let's see the superchips do that.

WOW. It's a landslide. Everyone except VMax2007 thinks Justin's tune is the way to go.

What is the best way to contact Justin, through his website or this one?

Also, there seems to be a few different ways to get a tune from him. Scan cable, new PC, etc. Which one is better and is there a difference in the tune between the different options

Best way is to get a live in person tune. The data-logging tune is good too, you can end up with the same results, but it's a little more costly and it's just fun riding around with him making adjustments.

I personally would go with those. Much more custom that way and less likely to have to retune something.

I would contact them and see if he is going to be in your area anytime soon. If not you have two options...either go with the data-logging tune or ask him about some dates and get a tune together in your area. All you need is 10 people to give him a deposit and he will be there.

I would recommend the in-person if you have the chance. If I didn't have that option, I'd definately spend the extra $50 for the data-logging tune. He knows his stuff and makes these trucks kick a$$.
