18 mpg? I never even got 10 in my 06...That was all highway at 65...

If I stay at 65MPH I get 15-16 MPG on flat ground. Just normal city and highway I am down to 12-13. Towing 8000lbs I get mid 9's regardless if it's flat ground or up and down the mountains.

Mine is a 2000.

Back and forth to work, about 60% hiway, I get just over 14 mpg. Around town about 12-13. Towing our 2000# pontoon boat I get 11, and towing the 5th wheel I get about 8-9, but it struggles on hilly roads.

It used to be a tad worse, but I got a custom 87 octane tune from Blackbear to help get back some of the horse power I lost by going to 17" tires. I also had him lower the shift points in both regular driving mode and tow haul mode....did not seem necessary to be going 65 mph before the tranny would shift into overdrive...ugh.

Overall, not too bad for a 6000+ pound truck.....

Mine is a 4x2, not a 4x4, but it does have the locker rear end and does very well, though no offroading...ha

I have a 2002 6.0. I get 11-13 running local, usually right around 12-14 with mix of city/highway, towing 5,000-7,000 lbs it does high 9's to low 10's depending on how hard i run it. highway i'm around 15, the best i ever got was just under 17 on all highway running 60mph.

Took a 40 mile trip yesterday. With CC on, anywhere from a steady 16-20mpg at 55mph, 12-18mpg at 62mph. Without CC on, the numbers are a little lower. I held a steady 19 for about a mile or so on a really flat stretch.

Took a 6000 mile trip from Michigan to Oregon in late June early July with a 2010 HD 2500 Yukon XL 6.0L 6Spd 4WD. Vehicle has the exact same powertrain as the HD PU's (aside from electric active TCase vs electric non-active TCase or manual TCase) in the HD 2500/3500 PU's and the same transmission calibration as well. Zeroed the DIC average fuel economy at the start of the trip and didn't haven't touched it since.

At the end of the Detroit to Mt Hood leg the DIC read 18.7 mpg. At the end of our 10 day vacation the DIC read 17.1. And at the end of the Oregon to Detroit run, after 6200 miles the DIC read 17.4 mpg.

Of course, a lot of highway miles, but much of the results are a function of driving style.........but you guys know that.

My 09 3500 CC 4WD gets about 13 in the city and anywhere from 14-17 hwy. Wish it could get a bit more...but cant complain for being such a big truck. My 2000 1500 xcab 4WD w/5.3 would only get from 14-16mpg.

My 1999 1/2 GMT800 (nbs) 2500 4wd has gotten consistantly about 12.5 mpg in the city and 14.5 highway when driving below 80 mph. Above 80, it gets down around 13 and below 70 it starts to approach 15mpg. This is a extended cab shortbed with a Snugtop cab high shell.
