Rust issues - 2015 Yukon

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon all,

I have a 2016 Silverado 2500HD so I typically frequent a different section. However I am looking at a 2015 Yukon SLT with 40k miles. I am fron California but moved to Virginia last year, so rust has never been an issue until now.

I have attached some photos of the rust. Is this a big deal for a 3 year old vehicle?

Thank you greatly

Having some slight surface rust like that on these vehicles after three years is very common if you live in the rust belt areas of the country. After one winter there are some spots showing up on my Yukon as well. They dip the frames of these things in some kind of wax like material and you can recoat it. If it truly bothers you, take it to your dealer and have them give it a good once over. They have the ability to reapply undercoating if it ever comes off.

To sum it up, yes, rust is inevitable. Even within three years. Good luck with it!
