Finally had some time off to get a few things done. Tints : 15% Front Windows and Front Windshield Strip (Ceramic) 50% Rear and Back Windows (Ceramic) Rears are slightly darker, but they are very close to even in person. Wheels / Tires / Lug Nuts : Fuel Rebel - 20x10 -18 Offset Nitto Ridge Grappler - 295/55/20 McGard Spline Drive Lug Nuts Fronts have slight rub on the inside of the mud flaps. Very slight. At full lock and turning out of the driveway. Going to try removing the Mud Flap Bracket sometime this week and go from there. Tires are a good bit quieter them the factory Wrangler Duratrac’s. Stock TB Suspension. Rear looks a little low because the factory wheels/tires are in there. I don’t have a level kit. Next up... full De-Badge2 points

Ok, So we all know AFM lifters have been known to have issue and I have seen a lot of people post tricks, or preventative maintenance, or the most farfetched information I have ever seen in my life explaining why they tend to go bad. So, With that being said. I thought I would give my view on what I have been seeing and what is causing the lifters to fail. The first thing and most important thing is… MAINTNANCE! If you fail to service your truck like you should, you will definitely have an issue. I would really recommend not using the oil life monitor and changing your oil every 4000-5000 miles. You can use Synthetic or non-synthetic oil if you follow this schedule. Oil has come so far from 10 years ago that regular oil is not that different (as far as breakdown and effectiveness) than synthetic oil. The AFM activation and deactivation is controlled by the VLOM (valve lifter oil manifold). It has 4 solenoids that direct the flow of pressurized oil to the AFM lifter when controlled by the ECM. Now this is why changing your oil is key. The filter underneath the oil pressure sensor controls contamination from clogging AFM lifter. If the filter gets clogged from trashy oil it will cause low flow to the AFM lifter and cause it to fail. The amount of pressure the AFM lifters need to operate is 25-65 PSI of oil pressure. It needs 22 PSI of pressure to unlock the pin releasing the Lifter. This is why proper maintenance is critical. That’s the main cause of the lifters failing, even though many other things can cause it. Modifying your ride height of the truck can cause an over activation issue. Poor fuel quality will cause the same. Larger tires causing engine strain causing over activation and the obvious… Faulty parts. Everything is man made and prone to fail at some point. Just wanted to put my 2 cents out there. I will also link a video to the removal procedure for replacing the AFM lifter. I am working on another video for the installation now. I was the only one in the truck. Going out the rock road when I heard a loud bang and my windshield shattered in on me. Ended up taking my brother's 2018 LT Z71 to work. Insurance adjuster hasn't called yet and my truck is sitting in a shed to keep it out of the eventual rain from the tropical storm next week.1 point

I know for the small amount of dirt/mud that gets on the fronts easily comes off with a hose. I do not believe that you need to coat them IMO.1 point

I think Capworld is a dealer. We have those in the northeast, And I saw Auto Outfitters up in Newport, VT. Not sure where you’ll be tho. I got mine on amazon. The green base can come up also which will give you more room to separate it and have more room to work. I think there are 2 tabs holding the base down.1 point

Alright i installed them, i did a video from inside of the truck on the same route and did not hear a difference in the audio (so i will not post them). I will put a How-To up on the site soon (well hopefully soon). overall fairly easy to install. A good T10 and needle nose pliers are your friend for this installation.1 point

Well I can tell you my leer 100 xl is getting shipped back to leer. Several issues with it. I guess it all depends on how picky you are and how much you want to spend. Absolutely, I stated that in a previous post about rolling windows down letting the hot interior air escape. My post though was in reference to a member stating the that the recirculate must be on for maximum cooling. True but not when cabin air is 120°f. Once interior is cooled down, recirculate gives maximum cooling.1 point

Or you can open the windows for two minutes with the recirculation on, fan 50% and do the same thing.1 point

Got a chance to try out the new pressure washer and foam cannon today with some Chemical Brother honeydew soap and I feel like I’ve been washing my truck wrong this whole time! Haha it really impressed me just making the cleaning of the chassis and suspension so much easier. Did the math and it costs .72 cents a wash worth of soap and that ain’t bad at all! And since we are going to be without rain for a week or two I even cleaned up the engine bay and detailed the entire interior and treated all the leather. I’m tired now haha1 point

This is what I did to mine today, or rather a deer. Jumped out of a corn field, into my fender, slid across the hood, up the windshield and launched over the rest of the truck after leaving more crumpling and dents in the front of the roof. Interior is covered in glass and the passenger A-pillar is also slightly damaged.0 points
