I’ve decided that my next vehicle is gonna be a 2500 work truck with a 6.0 (transfer case lever for the win) however I can’t decide between the crew cab or the extra cab. Can actual adults fit in the rear seats of an extra cab? Won’t be for long rides but I don’t want it to be something that only a contortionist could fit in.1 point

It's pretty darn tight back there for adults. If they were about 5 foot 5 then it would be easier but anyone taller is going to be sitting sideways.1 point

Unknown at that time, but my current 2021 was 58k and I added a few extra things so I think this will be right at 60k. No expected delivery date because i'm fairly low on the list and GM allocations are not generous at this time. Also, having it a diesel doesn't help as that's even more rare for an allocation. When I have more info, I will post it up.1 point

I thought of you when I wrote it and I would've been upset if you didn't respond! I really enjoyed your common experience viewed through a kaleidoscope imagery. My wife and I had very similar childhoods and have lived together for almost 50 years. These past two years have often found us talking about our shared experiences in subterranean levels. I have surprised myself on many occasions how our interpretation of events differ. We're usually good on describing the situation but what was learned can be quite different!1 point

Pull the stick on the transmission. If it isn't translucent red like you have a hard time even seeing it's there that's a problem. Factory fill is pretty much toast by 45K. On a long test drive monitor the transmission temperature. If after a good long pull on the interstate it settles in around 190 F+ it still has the TBV active. Note how it shifts both up and down during the entire test drive and assure you are starting cold. That is trans fluid below ambient. Until the fluid reaches around 68 F the converter will not lock up but if it fails to afterward that is a problem. I'm concentrating on the transmission as it is the one of the most neglected parts of most vehicles and something few ever look at when buying. On the test drive test every system on it. It has allot of miles for the year. So yes it likely to have been a highway driven machine. Check the engine hour meter and divide miles by hours. That many miles should be something over 40. If instead its like in the mid 30's then it also has allot of idle hours on it. Some working types will leave their gassers run like a diesel. Read the records. How often and what products were oil changes done. Transfer case, diffs ever receive service? Look at the master cylinder level and color. Ever had brake work? Almost no one tops off brake fluid. It will be a rough indicator of brake life left. Get it on a rack or take it to a mechanic you really trust for a solid look over that includes pulling wheels, checking suspension parts and checking all levels and fluid conditions. Check the breathers for foam/white snot. Point is this truck even well taken care of may need a raft of services common to the miles due to Joe Averages treatment of the truck. It's a wide range. There are allot of owner/operators that are fanatical about detail and paint that are power train clueless. After all this ask yourself if its worth exceeds its value. If it does then have at. If its value exceeds its worth? Hard pass. 2 cents and a cuppa coffee.1 point

61,000 on my '19. Rear window leaks and the front axle stub shaft chirp had to be fixed. Love it. Plan on upgrading it and driving it until it stops working.1 point

Not always. An alignment can be out in a number of ways that isn't readily noticeable by odd handling. My truck's alignment isn't correct anymore at 61,000 miles but it seems to drive fine. Insides of my front tires are wearing noticeably more than the rest of the tread. Tires are at the end of their life so I'm just waiting to get it aligned when I do the lift and new tires this summer.1 point

-Proper lift kits cost a lot of money -IFS lift kits add complexity and part count -Install may be past what some people can do on their own so more money spent at a shop -Taller truck = may not fit in garage, parking garages, tight spaces, etc -Taller truck = more drag so worse gas mileage -Lower center of gravity is better on and off road -It's their truck so who cares what they do with it?1 point

Pellet grills are all the rage nowadays it seems. Bunch of brands out there. Not uncommon to see models @ $1000 or so. Mine looks more like a gas grill from the outside. Picked it up at Wally on clearance for $199, regularly around $500, I think. That was my limit to spend on one since I've got a perfectly good charcoal burner. So, I'm trying it out. Bags of pellets aren't all that bad. You can catch them on sale @ $.50 per pound or less. All kinds of brands/flavors out there. I was already into smoking, but my smoker was almost a little too small at times, so this pellet grill can take over the smoking jobs. temperature control is like cooking in an oven. Yeah it says Cuisinart on it, but it's made here in Texas by a company that produces a lot of cooking equip1 point

Don't think I've already mentioned this.... in my spare time, I broke down and bought a pellet grill. Liking it so far. It won't totally replace my charcoal grill though. The pellet is a quicker startup. Just turn the dial to set temp and everything gets going. Controls temps well.1 point

If you please I have a thought on that Yea, who knew, right? Common sense is a sensibility shared in common. Oxford says this about Sensibility: the ability to appreciate and respond to complex emotional or aesthetic influences; sensitivity. Common rendered before sense, by extension, would assume we shared a common experience as a group. More to the point we shared those experiences than shape our response identically and thus are likely to respond identically AND sensitively. Anyone with more than one child knows this is never true. I have six and each responds differently to the same situation. Oh there are commonalities naturally. We all put on a wrap when it's cold, common sense, but they all process the more complex such as death or the fear of it uniquely. Some not so sensitive. Lack of bed side manors. The experience in this case is unavoidable. It's global. We will share it together but we do share it differently. Much differently. And kiddos there is a math model for that concerning distribution you would care nothing about nor would the majority find it remotely interesting. Most of the difference that shape our response has more to do with the differences in the way we met it. The way we met the virus has shaped how it 'acted out on/in each persons" field of view. Changing the observation, Changing the conclusions drawn. Changing the experience from something common to something other and it is THIS that brings the pain. We puzzle over the difference in reactions of others when met by the same stranger. Common sense? More like common experience. Viewed through the kaleidoscope of being unique to our vantage point.1 point

I would sign up with https://www.autocheck.com/vehiclehistory/ and also run the VIN through that. The Carfax shows no structural damage so it may have been cosmetic only which can still get pricey. But... I had a Chrysler Pacifica some time ago. It was a couple years old when I bought it. I had the Carfax done on it and it showed 2 previous owners but no reported accidents. I had it for 5 years. I decided to trade it in on a 4 year old Dodge Dakota. I knew how much I should be getting and was all set. At the dealership, after they did the appraisal, the salesman came in and began quizzing me about the Pacifica. He told me that it had a reported accident so that was going to decrease the trade on by several thousand dollars. I got into a big argument as I knew I hadn't had any accidents in it. He then produces the Autocheck report which showed that it had sustained frame damage before it had even been titled. After seeing that, I had to profusely apologize to the poor guy and left the dealership still driving my frame damaged Pacifica. But my point is, don't completely trust the Carfax report, especially because it does identify a reported accident. Run it through Autocheck as well just to be sure. But then, if it still seems acceptable, start researching prices of the same model and similar miles to see what those are being listed at dealers and then start bargaining. Even though it may have been minor damage, that info will still always be there and may be an issue when you get ready to trade it in. If you get it at the right price, then a slight loss later may not be an issue.1 point

I wanted my 128 gb drive to be formatted FAT32. Had to install software for Win10. Loaded gigs of music, installed and didn't work. radio would not recognized it. Reformatted to exFAT, installed 1 album, did not work. Reformatted again with NTFS and it worked. 2021 GMC 15001 point

Mine is a 2020 Custom 4x4 with 5.3L (NOT a trail boss) 35x12.5x20 Atturo Trail Blade X/Ts (Measure out to 34.92” and 12.52”) 2.25” Pro Comp level up front (actually sitting .75” nose High at the moment so getting a 1” Rear block put on soon). No spacers. No trimming. No rubbing (although to be fair, I deleted the rock/mud guards as soon as I got her)1 point

On "Audio" screen, click on "more" (on the lower left corner of the screen), and select the USB again. Don't try to leave it with the car to pick it up automatically. This should fix the issue.1 point
