Roof Clearance Lights

Ok all new to the forum so i am sorry if this has been discussed. I am looking at ordering a new 2010 GMC Seirra 1500 Crew Cab, I want to add those new low profile LED cargo lamps or i guess called clearence lamps offered on the HD's and i was wondering if any1 has added them to their 1500 GMC or Chevrolet Trucks, the newest body style, 07 and up...if so can i see some pictures?!

Really would like to check it out before i add them

Wouldn't it look just like they do on an HD truck?

If they are not available factory, I would think a lighted visor would be much easier.

Having a quick look at the GM website, looks like those clearance lights are not available on the 1500.

Never hurts to ask the dealer anyways, you never know.

They're not hard to install. A few holes, some wire, and a little silicone caulk and you're done.

Do you maybe have a step by step? I would love to have clearance lights on the 97, but am leery about drilling holes and then not being able to get the wires all down. Its an SLT, so it has the nice interior trim and overhead console. I am more than capable, I guess I'm just looking for tips to snake the wires, particularly from the first (left) one down to under the dash.

For an old square-body truck like yours, there should be aftermarket kits that come with full instructions.

GMC does not offer the lights from the factory for the 1500's but the dealer told me they can do and install no problem, the reason they dont offer it stock is that they said they can never re-sell that truck because no one wants the roof lights on a 1500, thats why i was wondering if anyone had pics

I know I saw a thread at dieselplace.com about adding the new style roof markers on a GMT800. I'm sure the install would be similar on a GMT900. I'm thinking about doing this myself but I want to find out the factory measurements on where I place the lights before I do anything. I'll try to find that thread for you.
