Front Brakes On A 05

Well i have a shade over 42k and my rotors are just about to wobble off if i don't change them out soon. I'm looking to avoid cheaply made delco ones and especially even worse autozone specials so I'm wondering what a quality replacement would be and what company makes them. Would like to buy a brand that will not warp after a panic stop if needed, delco while better then the china made crap from pep-boys or autozone is still rubbish imo and costly at that.

Does brembo make a kind of non race type rotors that don't cost a ton or any other company for that matter? Also if i go with a quality aftermarket brake rotor what type of pads should i get? I have heard to stay away from ceramic as they kill rotors themselves?

In the '05 and '06 model years some trucks came with the vacuum boost braking system which had 17 inch wheels up front and drums in the back. The rotors, pads, and just about everything was different from the other model with Hydro boost system and all wheel disc.

Which is yours?

I had basically the same truck as you. When it first came out the brakes were a bitch to find, they used some new pad shape and nobody carried it. I replaced mine with Powerslot rotors and full ceramic pads from parts america. If you need part numbers I can probably still find them but it was about 3 years ago. FYI, my OEM brakes lasted 13k miles before the rotors were trashed from cementites.

It has 17" alloys and rear drums.

I have a post on here that has all the part numbers that you will need including the ones for your drums. Do a search for brakes and put me as the author and you will find it. I recommend Powerslot rotors and Autoanything.com has some brake pads that will work wonderfully. They also have pads that are specifically for our truck as it will say so in the search parameters. I loved my powerslots I just hope my calipers didn't ruin them by with uneven wear. The pads I chose were from gm parts direct and were just some generic stuff. It's easier to find stuff for our setup now, not so much a couple years ago.

Heres the link

I'm a big fan of EBC. I've used their brakes on everything from trucks to motorcycles, and always with good results. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

I highly recommend powerslot rotors... make a long story short, i had the stock rotors for 17k or so miles. pads were squeelin bad, i decided to "upgrade, lol" to autozone rotors and ceramin gold pads... best stuff they sell, about 2-3k miles later the pads were grinding into rotors and breake dust like mad, autozone refunded $ for them, i went with powerslot rotors w/ cryo coating (highly recommend) and hawk ceramic pads, and have been fighting what i found as caliper issues holding up... thats what wore the autozone crap out so fast, so the power slots are holding up to the extreme heat from caliper not grooving at all! Dealer replaced pass side caliper couple weeks ago and are replacing drv side tommroow morn..

Powerslots are very nice, not to pricey (only paid around $160 each i believe ..) make sure u get the cryo coating ... its was an extra month wait , but it is proven to work!
