2" Lift Or Leveling Kit

I have a 2009 sierra crew cab with allterrain pkage, and I would like to either add a 2" RC or TC leveling kit, or a TC 2" total body lift kit w/o the shocks. I want to be able to upsize my tires to 285s, but I also would like to maintain my factory smooth ride. What would you guys recommend? Anything else you like? Please show some pics of your truck.

I got the 2" RC leveling kit. I got a 09 CC Sierra z71 and the ride is still the same before and after installation. I love the looks of the truck now and it levels it out nicely. I don't have any pics right now but I'll try and get one up tomorrow.

imo body lifts suck, go for the leveling kit i think you would be much happier and your truck we sit nice.

Go with the body lift, these GMT900 trucks dont have the same issues that OBS trucks have with body lifts (tons of frame, low hanging hitch, etc). Done correctly, no one can tell. For what its worth, I went with the 3" and couldnt be happier.

If you go with a leveling kit, i recommend 1.5" max. There have also been balljoint issues surfacing lately on these GMT900's.... so if you're concerned at all about your front end components, i'd recommend staying away from the leveling kits.

I have the RC 2" leveling kit. Ride is exactly the same as before. Been on for 5,000 miles and no problems. About to add some 285/70/R17s.

i had a 1.5" readylift leveling kit and it was alright, but then i upgraded to a CCM 2.5"/1" kit that u can get off ebay and i couldn't be happier. adding that extra inch to the rear keeps the ass end up when you load it up with stuff. plenty of room for bigger tires too

I have the same color truck and same wheels, so this should give you a good idea . 2" Rough Country Levelling Kit in front, and 3" ReadyLift blocks out back. 286/65 18 Nitto Terra Grapplers.

i am also about the put a 2" coil spacer on my 07 nbs and I am a little worried about the ball joints? are they having issues with the 1.5 or the 2" or both? I am not going for the off road look im going with 22's with a 305/40/22 and i was doing the leveling kit for looks and also trying to fit a 305/45/22 tire..what would you guys suggest? thanks jeremy I was also looking at lowering the rear with blocks and putting helper bags for towing?

I've seen issues with all, stock and leveled.... The majority are running leveling kits though.

Like I said, its not guaranteed that you'll have a problem. I'd just be leary....fact is that any modification that increases the balljoint angle sure won't help extend the life of the parts, whether its a 1" 2" or 3" kit: don't be mad if the don't last as long as normally expected.

i have a 2.25 readylift under mine and i like it a lot. put 285/65/r18 BFG's and that along with the level made the truck look much more aggressive. also took the valance off. ride is a bit rougher but nothing i can't stand.
