Ses Grill Or How I Became A Bubblegummer...

After having lived most of my life putting money into mechanical things in my vehicles, I'm starting to think about appearance items for my 08 1500.

I'm thinking of a billet type grill with horizontal bars in a chrome finish (to match the grill outer frame). Also, I hate polishing aluminum. The only one I found so far was from SES. Anyone have input on this grill or other chrom finished billet grills?

I don't have any experience with the one you're looking at, but I think that type of appearance would be nice on your truck.

I know nothing about the brand. But I did see the pics on the other threads link and didn't care for the short vertical bars- seemed a bit "plaid-ish", IMO, FWIW.

Yeah, me too. But I realize they need to be there to stabilize the horiz bars. I think they're in the back of the horiz bars and are chromed so they stand out. I'm thinking a little flat black on them with a brush and all will be well.

I think it will look pretty good, but I do agree that the vertical support bars shouldn't be chromed.

Since you have a red bumper, buy a red chevy grill, that would great on your truck.

I have an SES Grill. It's chrome plated stainless steel and I know it's steel because it's pretty darn heavy. The build quality is okay but the only two things I don't like about it are the visible vertical support bars (since they're chrome too) and the way it finishes at the top corners. The top couple of bars bend downward at the corners so the top one lines up with the factory chrome band that surrounds the grill. I wish they would have made it follow the chrome piece on the hood. I'm afraid to bend them myself and wreck the finish.
