Next Body Style Change?

There is usually a 5 year lapse in between body style changes for most manufacturers. They may have some minor changes in between, but for a major change...5 years. However with that said....GM went from 99 1/2 all the way through 2007 1/2 before they changed the last one. Almost 9 years!!! We'll see how things go as we watch GM try and climb out of the hole. It costs a lot of money to re-tool for a new body style.

I don't think we'll see the entire GMT900 platform go away; a mid-cycle refresh/enhancement is entirely probable though.

Hopefully they re-work the gauge clusters to have a DIC screen between the tach and speedo like some of the other newer GM offerings (Equinox, LaCrosse, Camaro, G8), but leave it close enough to current so we can try retrofitting them into our older 900-series trucks.

i just read in the latest 4 wheel and offroad mag that it was planned for a revamp for 2012, but that it has been pushed back to 2014. look back on previous platforms, GM usually keeps the platform the same for at least 9 years.

Last i heard it was going to be 2013 M.Y.

According to Automotive News, the next "refresh" will be here in 2013 but no news on a totally new truck.
