2 Quick Problems With My Silverado

Recommended Posts

Posted

i just bought a silverado today....its a HD 3/4 ton crew cab......i love it

i have 2 problems with it

first, the power mirror on the driver side doesnt seem to work.....it has the telescoping mirrors but i cant get it to move it up and down.....is it suppose to? im pretty sure it is, but i seen some vehicles with only power mirror on the passenger side

second, i put a CD in and it wont play, i hit eject and it just clicks but wont eject......i cant figure it out but i only spent about 2 minutes on it.....is it a CD changer or what? ive never had one of them

i do love the truck tho, its sharp, and heavy duty....suspension rides alot better then the tacoma i had before it

Is the rocker switch on the arm rest flipped all the way to the left when you try to adjust the mirror?

My truck has the Bose stereo with an in dash 5 disc changer. Is that the stereo you have?

Congrats on the new truck. What are the specs? Year? Engine? 4X4?

its an 03 2500 HD crew cab...i love it.....the color is charcoal...and yes 4x4, ill never in my life by a 2 wheel drive truck even tho all the salesmen tried to

its got the 6 liter vortec, abut 75k miles on it....and i just got a nice huge diamond plate tractor supply brand toolbox today

its also got the chrome pipe running boards which i love, and already came set up with the hitch reciever mounted and the front tow hooks...i dont know if they do that in the factory or not but it seems like most newer pickups have both, especially a 3/4 ton

anyway i solved my mirror problem.....still getting use to all the new buttons and controls

but i still cant get the CD out....i press eject and all it does is click loud for about 10 seconds, cant get the CD to eject

also....i dont know what some of the buttons are.....on the steering wheel theres a button with a picture of a gas pump and a button with a picture of a road...ive pushed them both and cant figure out what they do....it doesnt light up on the dash or nothing

ill post pics of the truck soon....i went out today and got a toolbox, a nice chevy steering wheel cover, a new front license plate that has the chevy symbol on it

Is it a store bought cd or one you burned?

Try removing radio fuses for a couple of minutes.

i actually got the CD out with a pocket knife and a flathead screwdriver

i put another one in, and it played....the first one didnt play......but this one wont eject either

ill have some pictures up today

My father in law's truck did that exact same thing too. I had to dismantle the radio to get his cd out. I tried to look at all the gears and parts on it and see what was binding but I couldn't get it to work. You'll probably just have to replace the radio. You can go get one from a junkyard and have it reprogrammed for about 50-100 bucks. The dealer has to reprogram the radio because they are VIN locked to the trucks. I just gave him my old one from when I replaced mine with aftermarket.

Really? I did not know that. Stock radios don't last long for me, maybe 48 hrs tops after purchasing a new truck. Same goes with the speakers.

Mine either, thats why he got my old stock one. I keep the same radio from truck to truck. When I sell it I put the stock stuff back in.

Looks good. Exactly like my truck, except I have the Duramax.
