mine was aftermarket one... but I had 22"s

mine was riding like crap. I guess b/c I've been living in MS/LA with rough road.

anyway I changed mine back to stock 17"s

I have OEM 22" rims on my Denali and I did not notice a change in the ride quality at all. As long as you stil have some sidewall and have not gone with too low profile of a tire you will be fine.

Love this tire/rim combination. Would you mind telling me what rims these are and tire brand name and size? I am wanting to go with a low profile but don't want to give up the good ride.

Thanks

I have 22" (285x45xR22)installed on 22x9.5 (+34mm) Forgeline rims on my 2013 Yukon Denali, and love the ride, makes you feel "planted" on the road.

As others have said, as long as you do not go to low on the profile of the tire, you will be fine.

I just ordered the Helo 878 rim and cooper zeon ltz 285/50r20 tires. Can't wait to see them on!

Greg,

They are GM aftermarket 22's. 285/45/22. I really did not notice much change in ride quality.

I believe that you will have a good ride with larger rims if you use high quality tires. There is no worse combination than huge diameter rims and cheap crappy tires.

I personally am not a big fan of large diameter rims. I have factory 18" rims on my Impala LTZ and the ride is firm but sometimes way too stiff for my liking ,especially when going over bumps.

I am perfectly happy with my truck's stock 17" rims.

With a 45 % aspect ratio on the 22" tires, you are still able to get a nice soft ride.

On my 2001 Z28 (Sara) I have a 35 % aspect ratio on 18" tires, and the ride is brutal.

That ^ is, uh, something. Where do you hook up the horses?

On the 22" subject, I run 305/40 ZR22's in the summer, and factory 18's in the winter. The ride is softer and the bumps not as harsh on the 18's, but it feels "squishy" and feels like it's "floating" compared to the 22's. As mentioned, the shorter sidewall feels more planted, more responsive in cornering. In my case there is a trade off between ride(18's) and handling(22's), but hey, I didn't buy a Buick, I bought a truck. Give me the handling all day long.
