Hot Unlock Code

So, I got a buddy who has a 2500 hd, 6.0L with a hypertech power programmer III. CLAIMS he has some type of hot unlock code for it, paid hypertech 100 bucks for this code but he cant really explain to me what it does, but says its sooooooo much better than a the normal tune. He did mention that when he was buying it, the tech guy had asked him whether or not this was a daily driver because with this code you WILL BLOW YOUR ENGINE!!! I guess its supposed to give it some type of more aggressive tune but I never rode in the truck before he had this code so I cannot say. I've seen the code, and heard him say he was putting it in, never actually seen him type the numbers because i didn't care at the point, but i just called hypertech to make some sense of it and had a nice 20 min conversation with a tech guy who I had laughing hysterically when I told him about this "code" and he said there was never any type of code or unlock for the ppIII. I'm not doing a hypertech, so it really doesn't matter, but I'm just curious to see why he would go through all the trouble of telling this to ppl if it doesn't even exist. Doesn't make much sense to me.

 

Anyone ever heard of this "hot unlock code" because hypertech themselves have never heard of it.

Entirely unlikely that they would release a tune that they claimed would 'blow your engine'....lol.

Right, I agree, I mean its not like it was published like that, this is just what the tech guy supposedly told him. I think its a buncha hog wash but who knows. What more possibly could it do.

You got that right, Hyper-Tech is right up there with the Bullydog gas tuner units for having a display with cool skins to show your vehicles status and running some sort of virtual 0-60,1/8mile etc. These companies need to wake up and make a performance tuner. imo
