I have been wanting to post this on here since last sunday, but I keep forgetting about it! After getting my Blackbear Tune out in Pittsburgh on Sunday I saw a Chevy Volt heading towards Pittsburgh as I was heading home. I had my cousin and fiancé with me, but neither of them saw it. It was Silver like the one they always show. I don't even think its out yet so Im not sure if this was what they call a "Mule" or not, but I def. know it was a Volt body!

Cool. I hope when they bring it out, the price is competitive.

Yea I know. When I saw it I had to do a double take because I wasn't sure. That thing is one sharp car though for being electric.

im afraid GM is gonna way over charge for it and it wont sell.... they would sell more if its around the 18-26k price range

isnt there a government rebate or something for not using gas? i think it was like 10k off

Supposed to be around $30k.....not price competitive in my opinion for the size it is,I would think more like $20-23k would be competitive.

Yeah,They are not out yet so it would have a preproduction or test vehicle,It could've also been the new Chevy Cruze, since the Lordstown assembly plant (which isn't very far from where we had the tune meet) has been building them for awhile now and they look quite similar...2011 Chevy Cruze

Heres the Volt...2011 Chevy Volt

I have seen more than a few preproduction/test Cruze's running around here,Like I said the Lordstown plant isn't very far from the area here.

You might save money on gas but your electric bill for your home will might double. :shakehead:

Oh no...my light bill will go up to 50 bucks a month rather than 50 bucks every two...whatever will I do?

Seriously...its like leaving a light on all night man. But if its priced at 30K+ than its useless. why buy a car that you will likely only keep for 5 years for double the price or more than a cobalt that is equal size.

I mean if you pay 500 a month for a car and 100 in fuel isn't it the same as a car for 200 a month and 400 for fuel. 600 bucks is coming out of my pocket...I really don't care who's pocket its going into.

That new Chevy Cruze is crazy mad with MPGs! Its considered a compact, but the interior meets midsize dimensions. It is supposed to get 40mpg highway!! That beats the best lexus hybrid, and the cruze is a non-hybrid gasser!

The volt looks awesome, and as mentioned, I hope they can keep the MSRP under 30k, or it is not going to do nearly as well.
