28" Wheels

Anyone have 28s? These are 295/25/28 tires, just curious whats involved in making them fit? My buddy wants 28s for his show truck. They look pretty damn good - please try to keep the bashing to a minimum!

Those are pretty popular 28in wheel in GM 6lug bolt pattern. Seen this one on another truck site

and I seen a set for sale for around $4,000 on another automotive forum.

As far as making them fit I am assuming they are going on a 6lug GM truck. If its a 10in wide wheel (really 11in if you measure w/out the tire) you want +35 to +40mm offset. On a stock height truck with the offsets I just suggested he may rub a little when turning hard.

Damn, for 4,000 dollars I would just buy a supercharger for my truck.

He has a leveling kit right now and was clearing a 33x12.50x20" tire with no rub so I am assuming he shouldn't have any problems with these.

hey vmax ... $4k for supercharger?? where??

Im a huge fan of big rims (even though I went with 20" on my truck lol) but 28's...Damn! For a show truck its cool, but for a daily driver, One pot hole and your $4000 rims are down the drain!

yea well those tire/wheel combo will put him right around 33.8in overall diameter. The issue will be that the wheel/tire combo will be a little over 11.5in wide. With stock wheel wells I'm almost positive he will rub when turning hard at least a little bit.

Well with the toyo m/t 33's, they were 12.50" wide and didn't have any rub ...? I expect some minor rubbing but nothing major?

I agree with you there as long as he has the correct offset.

I do believe that is about the stupidest thing I have ever seen done to a truck.

I agree 100%.

Yeah gonna add another +1 to that...sorry guys...to each they're own...but Big wheels on a truck doesn't do it for me.

Well I have 24s on my 09. While I love the look, the rotating mass is a bit much for me. I personally wouldn't do anything bigger on this body style of truck, but I'm sure the whole reason this site exist is so that we can come together and help each other out if possible.

Well... I'm really just stirring the pot, but I don't like the huge wheel and no tire look myself. Everybody has to like something though... we're just harassing you guys a bit.

I wouldn't run them but to each his own! :(

Yeah my feelings exactly. There are a few other ridiculous things that people do to trucks but this one is right up there.

I don't hang around as much since the ricers moved in.
