Help! Truck Is Possesed

I have 22,700 miles on it and have a intermittant problem that is getting worse. All the dash lights will come on, transmission will shift harshly, loss of engine power, the V-8 to V-4 does not work, the cd palyer will shuffle the discs with no key in the ignition, the door locks will all cycle rapidly, radio losses its memory. And wouldn't you kow all this happens when the warranty expired about 3 weeks ago.

Check the battery condition and all the connections to start with. Check the various grounds as well

When you said the locks cycle rapidly, I about laughed out loud. But, anyway, it must be a class 2 data error, or like they mentioned, anything that can make surges of power on your electrical system will make electronics act weird to.

I was having weird issues also and even had to have the truck towed in for service since it wouldn't start. Unfortunately, they said that there were "no codes set" and even moved a couple of the relays around and it seemed to work for a few weeks. The last time that that it wouldn't start we towed it in and fortunately it wouldn't start or set a code for the dealer. They checked a couple of sensors (crank and cam) and decided that since there were other electrical problems they would try and replace the relay assembly under the hood. I think that they're on to something as the A/C blows colder than ever and it seems to run better. Fortunately, I had an extended warranty...

maybe main wiring harness this happen with my old car but when it would happen it would stall and when it would shift it was hard

Check the wiring harness that runs down behind/near the emergency brake. There was a TSB about rubbing / wire damage in this area. The harness could rub against the sharp metal edge of the brake fixture. I fixed the harness on my 07 soon after I got it to avoid any future issues.

Does that TSB also apply to GMT 800s?

Yea that sounds like an electrical problem.

Do you really think so? I thought it was more related to low air pressure in his tires. :sigh:

Yikes! Sure makes me cringe hearing stories like this! Sounds expensive, but like you say, good thing you got an extended warrenty!

It's going to the dealer on Thur. It just pisses me off, it has 22,700 miles, the warranty expires 3 weeks ago and things start going wrong. The same thing happened to me on our 2000 grand prix, we bought it new and 2-3 weeks after the warranty expired the engine starts running on all 5 cyclinders.

I'm starting to see a pattern devolping with the "american made" vehicles. We traded the prix off on a cadillac CTS so I will see what happens with that one.... For the money these vehicles cost I would expect not to see any problems at least until they get paid off!
