Got the Fabtech lift on - waiting for wheels

IMG_0764.jpg

Once it was lifted I realized how rusty my underbody was :sigh:

So it got a degreasing treatment and a fresh coat of paint

After a claybar and a wax, my wheels and tires finally came in today! I couldn't be happier with the choice I made, 20x10 BMF SOTAs with 35x12.50 Toyo M/T's

Those wheels look freaking awesome on you're truck.

Looks Sweet! Almost exactly what I plan to do to my 2010 Sierra, except 20" Moz Blackjack wheels, but Toyo's all the way, best lookin tire ever! I you want to do soomething else you could paint your Chevy emblems. Black or red would look sweet, on both front and back.

Looks awesome. I agree with maybe painting bowties, but before that, do something with that tailpipe. Either get an exhaust maybe, or hack the pipe off like I did right as it dumps over the rear axle.

Great looking truck.

Totally bitchin' dude, looks very sexy...

What a typical cost for a degreasing treatment and new coat of paint for the undercarriage?

Thanks for the compliments guys! I made my decisions after months of reading/researching on here and on GMFS. I was going to paint the bowties this afternoon but it ended up raining again so that is a no go so far.

Brad, your truck has been my favorite for a while now. Almost went with the BDS lift after seeing your thread, but decided at the last minute to go with the Fabtech.

I did it myself. I used Grease lightning degreaser, a nylon brush, and a wire brush to clean off all the gunk and rust. Then I sprayed it down with a few cans of Rustoleum Gloss black. I plan on doing a rubberized undercoating down there once I find some. I'm sure you could get a place that does spray-in bedliners to do it, but it would cost a heck of a lot more than I spent doing it myself.

Good to know, I bought some Rancho Quick Lifts Friday night while I was drinking so I may try to take care of my rust build up down there when I install them sometime in the next couple weeks. No way would I pay a spray on place to do it, it cost an arm and a leg to get the bed itself done, not to mention that those assholes snapped my antenna off at the base in the process, which I still have yet to fix.
