Im not sure if 07's even have traction control? Anyone know?

My 2007 had traction control, but it was a VortecMax LTZ. Maybe some didn't have it?

Will it do a burn-out? Mine wouldn't hardly slip a tire unless I turned it off.

Traction control is monitored by the skinny pedal on the right. Exuberant amounts of pressure will cause tire slippage. Moderate pressure has been know to cause chirping. Light to feathery touch has been know to not bark or squeal the tires.

Nota bene, traction control belongs on the wife's ride..... If I want it to roast the rear tires. I do not want to be hunting a blasted button in order to do that..

Just my 2 cents,

Jbo

i think stabilitrak and traction control were not standard on 07 - 08 extended cab models. my 08 has neither one.

Stabilitrak was standard on the Crew Cab. I have it on my 07. This is the most sure footed vehicle in the snow and Ice that I have ever driven. yea, It takes the fun out of it when you want to play, but there is the switch to turn it off. With it on, it is hard to break the rear end loose more then a few inches even on slick packed snow. I also had an incident where an oncoming bobtailing tractor made a left in front of me as I was doing 60 mph or so. (I had a green, he should have yielded on green or waited for the turn arrow) My gut feeling tells me that the Stabilitrak and anti-lock brakes saved me and my passengers life. Just my opinion...

I agree that Stabilitrak and Traction Control are great features. However, I wish that they were turned OFF by default, but could be activated when the driver felt they were needed. If I want to kick the back tires loose, I should be able to do it without holding down buttons first.

Who would ever turn on Stabilitrak? Especially in time for those rare instances when you would truly benefit from it. That would be like buckling up right before an accident.

Stablitrak and traction control are good things. Even people that know how to drive benefit from them.

I like Stabilitrack and T/C. Especially when my stock tires got low when driving in the rain. According to the manual, you're only suppose to turn it off then stuck in mud or sand.

as much as I hate Stabilitrak and Traction Control sometimes, I have to agree with you.

I was on a gravel road near my hunting lease, this is private land behind gates, I came around a corner and started up a hill when a 1 ton flatbed peaks the hill traveling WAY too fast, this road is barely wide enough to pass both trucks on a good day, I was able to get my truck off to the side of the road and avoid him, he slid down the hill slightly sideways and barely missed me. I know Stabilitrak kicked in and made my truck go where I needed it to when I punched the brake and gave steering input. I consider myself a well above average driver, I used to swing my rear end out on slick roads just for kicks and bring it safely back around without issues - but sometimes it's nice having this feature.

My 2007 Chevy CC LT1 has them and the button

I kinda wish it was left off by default and I could turn it ON in the winter (much like the 4WD dial)

But then again, my truck does go like a mother******* Sherman tank in the winter! And very rarely do I feel the TC affects my everyday driving.
