Anyone update their horn in the gmt-900 yet? I dont want it to obnoxius (like a train horn) but just a little louder. How are they to install?

I replaced mine with a pair of Fiamm horns. Just installed the two in place of the GM single and added another connection. Sounds a billion times better.

back in the day, i know, :tear: we use to hit up the junk yards for 63-67 caddy's. they came with 4 horns, 2 high, and 2 low on their own mounting brackets and wired together. all we needed was to mount the bracket, and hook up 1 wire..today you'll have to find some after market horns that will put out over 100 db..

What kind of Fiamm horns did you get? I've been thinking about changing mine too

Just do what i did, put a 100 watt siren in your truck hahaha

 

I do want a set of grover emergency air horns off an old firetruck tho, that would be awesome

probly a dumb question but.... here it goes. what was the wiring? not plug n play obviously rite? something simple ?

 

No problem at all. I cut the plug off of the OEM horn and installed a Y with two 12 inch leads. Soldered the connection and used heatshrink to keep it insulated and sealed. Then a couple of solder on push on connectors for the horns (also heatshrinked). Good as factory.

Just ordered 2 pairs of the Fiamms one set for the truck and one for the car my car horn is terribly quiet. Are the fiamms much louder than the stock truck horns? What is the decibel level of the stock horn?
