6.0 Exhaust Bolts

I have two broken exhaust bolts and want to replace them. I have heard there is a new designed bolt, if so has anybody used it? Or is there a better solution? and how have they lasted? also what is a good gasket to use? any experience with this subject would be very helpfull

So far no problems with the bolts after having them on for over 2 years now. The bolts themselves have some special coating on the threads (forgot the name of it). It looked like teflom, but is not. They are designed to stay tight and tolerate the temperatures. Make sure you get the revised manifold bolts for the 6.0. They came out in late 2004.

Of corse mine must be and early 04 ha!!! Can you get them from any chevy dealership? Also do you have a part number? Also what gasket did you use?

they arent cheap..i payed quite a bit for mine

i think (its been a while) they are about 3 bucks a bolt times 12 bolts so about 36 buck not horrible

I don't remember what it cost, warranty covered it along with new manifold. I think you can get them from Napa or other auto parts stores. I'm sure GM service centers would have them. With gasket, it came with new manifold which was manufactured for GM in Canada.

I just called my local stealership and they said they were $1.76 does that sound right? I also asked if they were the new design and they just told me they were the ones they always sell

they should be OK. when installing the new bolts, put some anti seize compound on the treads.. will make your life a lot easer later on..

$1.76 is spot on. I had to go to two different dealerships to get 12 of them. My question is, what should these be torqued to?

just did this today on my 01. Bought the revised bolts M8x1.25 with a larger diameter head vs the original style. As far as the torque specs go....11 lb-ft then re-torque to 15 lb-ft. hope this helps

Just wondering did anybody have problems with the collector bolts?
