Power Juction Box Question

I just bought a 2011 GMC Sierra SLE 4x4 and while driving it I noticed that there is a large black power distribution box near the parking brake, slightly under the dash. Unfortunatley, it prevents me from fully extending my left leg out (I am 6'5'') and is quite annoying. Does anyone with a 2008-2010 have this box there? It is just to the right of the parking brake, mounted to the thermal-event barrier (otherwise known as a firewall).

Thermal event barrier? Never heard that one before, but I intend to use it now.

 

I believe what you are referring to is the MBEC. Do a search on here and you will find more info if interested.

Sounds like you are talking about the MBEC and yes everybody since 7.5 has the some one.

the box unclips out of its mounting bracket fairly easily, you have some room with the wires to move a few inches in either direction, you could try remounting the bracket out of your way, just watch for all the wires... other then that i suggest leg amputation...
