I figured it wouldn't take altogether too long for them to be back, but at the time I couldn't afford to wait as my current tires are beyond bald and I was supposed to be going up to the snowy north. Kinda sucks now that I'm without the truck for three weeks, but whatever, I like the BFGs too, I'll just get the DuraTracs next go round, I should be driving a lot less on the highway then anyhow.

Thanks Brad, exactly what I was looking for. I just need to wear my tires out :lol: I ran 285's on my 2000 (2 sets) and they were excellent tires. I also have a leveling kit that will need to go on :D

Yea my wife that. I had 2 sets of ires for my old 2000 (at's and mt's) one stipulation with the new truck was tt not have multiple rims. Her 08 Tahoe will need tires before my truck. Cant wait to get the cooper zeons for that.

 

By the way do you have any pics of your truck? I see you have a 3" rear block. Thanks!

i have themm on my truck. had them for about 20,000 miles and still look pretty new. i love them, and also had them on my 2007. the 275/70-18's are really the perfect size for the stock 18'' rim. it fills the fender well, yet doesnt rub. i will say that I lost a little get up and go, as well as a little fuel economy drop(maybe 20 miles per tank drop), but they are significantly heavier than the stockers. I also have the 5.3, so power shouldnt be a problem for your 6.2(Ryan) engines. After the installation of my Blackbear, cant tell that they are on the truck. The E range rides a little stiffer than the stock P rangers, but if you stay away from wash-board dirt roads, you will never notice. I am planning on another set following this one, if they ever wear out. I have some pics on my cell phone i will post.

Does anyone have an update with regard to running these 275/70-18 size tires ? I'm ready to put a set of Cooper AT3's on my 09 LT Sliverado. My truck has a 2" leveling kit with a 1" lift at the rear. I really liked the way Brad's looked on his truck. Just wanted to make sure nobody was having any rubbing issues for the front.......Mark

I keep going back and forth in sizes lol. I think 285/65/18 would look great, but Im still hung up on that whole stay within 3% of original size concept. Heavily leaning towards 275/65/18. But this 275/70/18 has be questioning that once again lol.

UPS just dropped off my 275/75/18 Discoverer AT3's for my 2010. They look huge compared to the AT3 on my 08. Only went with that size because they were cheaper than the 275/65 size.

Paid $640 for the 4 of them.

UPS just dropped off my 275/75/18 Discoverer AT3's for my 2010. They look huge compared to the AT3 on my 08. Only went with that size because they were cheaper than the 275/65 size.

Paid $640 for the 4 of them.

I was worried about 275/70/18's rubbing. Let me know how the 275/75/18's fit. I actually didn't know there was even a 75% sidewall height in the AT3 sizes. Photos would be great when ya get them mounted. I won't actually be ready for them for another month or so......Thanks In Advance......Mark

That's a typo....supposed to be 275/65/18.... hit the 7 while trying to hit the 6. Sorry for the confusion.

      Thanks to the convenience of Amazon, I was able to get a few things done to the truck today.  I installed Carquest Premium oil and air filters with five quarts of Mobil1 High Mileage 10-30 along with a quart of Pennzoil Platinum 5w-30 I already had.  The latch for the flip up center console lid was broken so I replaced it along with the power mirror switch.  I found my push retainer assortment this morning and reattached the plastic under the bumper and it was only held on with a few screws and retainers.  Then I programmed a new remote keyless entry fob so I can lock my dog in the truck when I take her out with me (I've got to keep the air going for her since it's been in the 100s).  Finally, I ordered some LED interior bulbs and replaced the reading lamps.  The front lights are working fine while one of the back lights only works intermittently and the other not at all.   While under the truck, I found the source of at least one of the noises: the sway bar links need replacing.  I ordered a set of Suspension Dudes links with Code Red bushings.  Never heard of them, but they're made in the USA and have decent reviews.  While making yet another Amazon order, I went ahead and added a set of front tow hooks.  I went with red, since that's the color of the sway bar link and bushings and it should look decent enough on a black and chrome truck.  Speaking of which, it doesn't bug me much, but the passenger side mirror has a chrome cap while the driver side doesn't, so eventually I'll make them match one way or another.  Oh, and I ordered a $20 TPMS reset tool.  No idea if it will do anything for my sensors but it was cheap and will work for the Ford Transit Connect as well.     For tradition's sake, I ordered a new oil change wrench.  I kept the Snap-On 9/16"x15mm GM wrench I bought when I was 18 in the 2006 GMC from the time I bought that truck until the truck was lost.  While I was tempted, there's no need to spend $80 for a new SO wrench, or even $50 with shipping for a used one on Ebay.  I just bought a Duratech 15mm extra-long ratcheting wrench to do the job as needed.  It works, and if I like that wrench enough, I'll buy the set.

      The recall is for exactly this issue - those drain holes combined with the limited environmental capability of the tailgate electronics card inside the tailgate were a problem. The “safety issue” was the potential for the tailgate to spontaneously open, but all kinds of tailgate misbehavior can occur from water contamination of that control card.    There is no real fix yet. The initial recall just disabled the tailgate. Later, when parts became available, they would replace bad parts with new parts of the same bad design. My dealer is going nuts because the few times I let them get their hands on my truck, my tailgate is off due to a slide-in camper installation. They really want to cut my tailgate wires, but I won’t give them the chance. I will let them get their dirty hands on it when a real fix (redesign) is available.  My tailgate, which works just fine with sealant plugging the drain holes, will remain safe in a dry storage crate until then.

      Yes your absolutely right, I been looking at the 4 inch BDS one and it acutely states you can use the stock 20’s just not the 17’s or 18’s, I also didn’t realize that with my 275/60r20 stock wheels I’m already running 33 inch diameter wheel setup lol so I can just run my stock wheels and tires atleast to start.

      I would expect that to be lift-kit dependent.  If the kit has interference issues w stock wheels, then the kit/manufacturer should indicate that somewhere.

      That’s what I’m wondering is if the stock backspacing of the factory wheels will clear new upper control arms and such
