I know you couldn't buy these in the states, I was wondering how many actually got built or can you still order this combo?

I have a friend looking for one, thanks ....

Wow I learned something new. I didn't even know you could get these in anything other then a 5.3L.

You could get the older HD versions with a 8.1, later 1/2 tons had an optional 6.0, then optional 6.2 on the Canadian version.

The 8.1 liter engine was actually STANDARD EQUIPMENT on the 2500 series Avalanche. I do not think there was any other choice.

Yup.

I read you can replace 5.3 with 6.0 no problem...I am curious too

You can swap the 6 or the 6.2 into anything that's currently holding the 5.3. How easy that is depends entirely on your skillset. :smash:

I just traded in a 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 with a 6.0 l with a 4.10 read end. Loved that truck. I am in Arkansas. Not many made from what I understand.

That AND the fact that they were pig's due to the two-stage torque convertors in the 4L80E's. They

won't even roll the stock 245 tires, from a dead stop. That, from a big block? No thanks.
