yeah i saw where it says 25% max but i just pulled off my 35% in the front and added 20% and now the front looks quite a bit darker. oh well, guess ill either leave it like that or go darker in the back

Ive always just told my guy that I want the front windows to match the back windows. He does all that figuring. I know the Texas standard has changed. It used to be 20%, now its like 25%. But, you cant tell the difference unless you compare side by side, which you basically have now. I think that the rear windows are 25% from the factory. I did have my S10 done and I told him to go a shade darker on the back than on the front. When I have my current truck done, thats what Im gonna do.

I took my truck to the tint guy I deal with and he matched it damn near perfect. He used 20% but I forget the actually color he used. It wasn't your standard black.

I live in Texas also (Fort Hood). 25% is legal for the front. The best I found was 29%. It blends well with the back. Youmcan still see a difference but it better than 35%.

I think the trick is to find a good tint guy because I have found that the darkness and coloring varies greatly from one manufacturer to another.

My tint guy I have been going to for years, has always used suntek brand 20% charcoal tint to match the rear windows in my last couple silverados. Never had any issues with the film fading, cracking, peeling etc. and it always matched perfectly.
