Man i feel so bad for the police chief (chief moose) in virginia.  I cant even imagine what he is going through having to go in front of the media 3-4 times a day.

I hope they catch this SOB fast he is causing some major havoc

There is no way I would let my daughter go to school there. I think anyone who says they are going to stand up to him by going about their daily routine might as well stick a target on their head.

As for chief Moose, My impression is that he's an idiot. I hope his police work is better than his public speaking skills. The FBI needs to have full jurisdiction right now.

what i dont believe is on fox news they just broke down his whole career.  Who cares.  Hes not the best speaker WHO CARES.  I honestly think they media should lay off.  I believe they are making it all worse.  Case in point they started talking about kids and schools.  Next day a young boy was shot in a school parking lot.  Then yesterday some news station was giving reports where the police road blocks were and what the best routes to work was.  Thats nice so if this sniper guy was listening he would know which route was best to take.

The media is making everything worse.

Thats what they do best.

I do think they should have released the info about the possible targeting of children as soon as they had it even if chief Moose didn't think it was appropriate. It seems like he is only saying what he is told to say. If I were him I would tell them to "get another spokesman I've got work to do" instead of making 3 and 4 statements a day.

Ryan, I'm with you on this point.  Pretty bad situation for Moose to be in - politicians are good speakers, and we all know how much substance there is w/ some of these people.  And anyway, I think his last several conferences have been scripted.

Yeah, the media has gone nuts w/ this, but as hogger said, that's what they do - I have no doubt this psycho is sitting back watching it all on TV just as we all are, probably taping it, too!!  :jester:

I can tell you guys first hand that it's very easy to get in and out of these crime scenes. I actually live in the Ashland area and was there when the shooting happened. My family and I were eating in a restaurant right across the street. We actually missed the shooting by a mere 10 min. It was almost 45 min. before they actually closed all the roads. I had no problems getting out of the area.

The incident in Richmond was a big cluster F*** also. Tons of "A" hole reporters talking about nothing. Seems like that's all they do, talk about nothing!

The conferences are scripted, no doubt about it.  He wouldn't want to slip and get questioned by the media and release too much information.  This way, they're straight and to the point.

I think the Chief sounds like "The Ladies Man" from Saturday Night Live when he talks.

LMAO!!!!!!!!  :(  :flag:    :flag:

I didn't mean to bash the guy but whenever they ask him a question he stops and has to think for 3 or 4 seconds before he answers by saying "I can't answer that".

Then "Ooo a lady!"  :jester:

The police chief from Montgomery seems to have himself a little more together.

To answer my own question. The reason the FBI was letting the local authorities play a part in this was that First degree murder is a state charge. The federal charges are not as serious. Thats what the picture box told me last night.  :D

Moose is from Montgomery Co, MD.  Since it was my home town, Rockville, MD, I guess I have to stick up for him.

I'm sure he doesn't want to or isn't allowed to say anything. Seeing how one small piece of info is mentioned off the  record and next thing you know its on every news channel for the next 6 hours. Only then to say, we've come to find out that had nothing to do with the case.

Its seems they may have caught the guys now anyways. So hopefully they weren't  as "dumb" as they looked.

Although, I did have to laugh on the "ladies man" comment!!!

I have the sense that Chief Moose is an emotional person - I know he had a tear running down his face when they announced the shooting of that 13 yr old boy.  I think he's probably torn between wanting to say more, but knowing he had better not.

Well, looks like they got 2 guys, who now are presumably considered suspects.

I say hang 'em!!

:jester:  :(

Personally I think he's an idiot and completely (well not him entirely) fubared the investigation.

"Ummm, yea, Mr. Sniper, we couldn't understand your voice mail...please call us again!"

Umm, yea!

"Ummm, yea, Mr. Sniper, apparently you tried calling us 5 times and the person on our end of the phone didn't believe it was you, so you go and kill 5 more times."

Absolutely brilliant!

Everytime they turned around, another f*ck up and yet they get on TV and tell us about it!  SHUT UP!!!!  Keep everything you know to yourself and the investigation.  These two morons that were sniping were having a field day watching CNN and plotting their next moves because of all the police f*ck ups!

Even someone (a ambassador, or someone in power) in the country of Turkey was questioning us about our potential war in Iraq.  He made a comment something along the lines of "How can they prepare to wage war on Iraq when they have one sniper running about wreaking havoc and they can't catch him!"

Sorry, I just hung my head in shame every time he came on.

There are a few people I feel bad for from this whole Sniper situation.

The person (or persons) I REALLY feel bad for are those 2 unsuspecting guys @ that payphone here in Richmond that ended up having nothing to do with the sniper at all.

I think Chief Moose handled the situation OK. For all you guys calling Chief Moose an idiot, let's see you stand up there on that podium with 1000s of camera flash bulbs going off in your face and plus the crowd of reporters playing 20 questions.

If you think he's bad, you should see me give a public speech (it ain't pretty :chevy: ).

I also feel bad for myself, cause I wasn't up there when it all went down (them getting caught), and thus, missed out on an oppurtunity for $500k. :)
