The Future Of Trucks!

Calm down its a cartoon picture. How many times have we seen something like that and it never resembles the actual truck. Look at the cheyenne concept in the early 2000's that was supposed to be the gmt-900 truck and it never came to fruitian.

Agreed. Release date is 2013, so you likely will see camoflaged test mules running around maybe as early as this fall or winter. With the extreme competition between manufacturers, you won't see the actual truck until right before they go on sale.

These drawings are just design exercises, where the ID boys crank out hundreds of sketches and renderings before deciding on the final design direction.

I do agree wholly but everyone nowadays wants that whole futuristic look, but either way I hope they keep a truck like motive and not look like the designs whatsoever. But who knows.

I was a harsh critic of the GMT-900 when it came out. Hated it. Guess what I currently own. It definitely grew on me and the optionas available put it over the top.

Well if anyone has seen the new colorada they are about to sell in Thailand you will see they def used the futuristic look for that truck, looks very odd to myself but hey, we are movin forward in tech and such. I can always build me a truck or two the way I want I suppose lol.

GM would never do something so radical. Truck buyers are mostly conservative folks who wouldn't want something so loud. Plus that article is over a year old.

I did the same. I almost bought a Tundra, since I had zero initial interest in the GMT900. My wife felt the same. Every test drive brought me back to GM... and glad it did! I now love the GMT900 styles, and think less of the Tundra. I have no doubt that these body styles will still be popular 20 years from now.

From what I just saw, Im hoping that the design will be altered and perfected many times before they put these trucks out. let me know what you think about all this. :)

That's some guy's idea of what it could look like. That's not even a concept drawing from the cousin of some guy's sister that works with the friend of a guy at GM.

Man I wasn't. I loved it from day one. Still do. I think in 20 years, I'll look back and think that it's in the top 3 of all-time truck designs (in looks) GM has ever put out.

what are the other 2?

i have always thought the GMT900's are very good looking trucks and the interiors are very nice, reasons i dont have one is that im afraid of how they are going to hold up in 10 years. i just wonder what they will all be like when they are that old.

My two favorite styles are 67-72 and 73-87. They just look very pure and what I expect a truck to look like. I do like the 900s as well and I think that's because they have a bit of the 67-72 style in the front clip with the tall leading edge on the hood and the gentle split of the grill.
