2011 Bumper End Caps. Can You Get Body Color Instead Of Chrome?

I've never seen a 1500 with chrome end caps.

You guys made me curious, so I looked online at a local dealer's stock:

 

2012 Silverado

 

I'm not sure I like the silver colored air dam below the bumper. To each his own I guess.

 

 

Im pretty sure this is the difference between a 2011 LT and a 2012 LT..the 2012 is all chrome

Yup, looks like all the LT models come with the all chrome fugly front end. First time I have seen an LS model look better than the LT. Guess if you want body colored end caps you are going to have to go with the Appearance Package or step it up to an LTZ.......unless you special order one without the gray painted plastic and chrome.

There is no shortage of HD one piece chrome bumpers on Ebay. There's a place in Texas that seems to pump them out. They go for $350 or so plus freight. I would love to put one on my 2010 1500, just don't know if it would work.

I bought my 2011 before the chrome package front end was an option. In fact I was leaning heavily toward the GMC because of it's solid chrome bumper. But my Chevy dealer made it a moot point by making me a MUCH better deal. Anyway I was wondering and since I haven't been looking lately, are the Silverado chrome end caps metal or chromed plastic (like the older HD trucks)? Not that it matters...just curious.

Looks like the left is 20985757 and the right is 20985758. These were part of the VXN Custom Chrome Front Bumper Package (which required fog lights when you ordered the package, therefore, should have the holes) which was available on 2011 trucks. Those numbers are the same for the standard chrome bumper on 2012 1500 trucks.
