i was curious. i am thinking of slowly converting my SLE to an SLT. yea i know it wont be easy or cheap. but i would like to have the home remote because of 2 garage doors and an electric gate. was this an option

yes, it's in the overhead console. Just buy a used one with the buttons from a salvage yard.

I have 2 of these consoles in my parts inventory that I can put up pictures if you'd like. They were from 2003-2006 Suburbans without the sunroof. You simply remove the AC controls and put in the pocket frOm the truck console.

I had the Umiversal Home Remote on an 02 Yukon. The range on mine was terrible. I had to be right in front of the door before it would work which was about 15 to 20 feet from the opener itself. This was the same for 2 garage doors. I now have it in a 2011 Tahoe and it works great even from about 100 feet away. I don't know when they improved them.

Very simple to do. You just need to get the Homelink section (or you can get the entire console) and wire 12V power to it. I even added one to my 1994 C/K. Here are 2 styles on ebay:

And if you search ebay for "homelink" you'll find a bunch of different button combos that you could mount just about anywhere (they even make one that fits into your sunvisor or you can buy a rearview mirror that has the buttons too).

ill have to look into this on payday next friday. all the headliners were the same color right? i have dark interior and a light headliner.
