Side Moldings Falling Off And Warranty?

I was going to take them off the truck when it was lifted so I didn't have to worry bout door dings. The lift is bout a year away. Well I noticed them coming off. So do u think dealer would pull them off for me since its under warranty instead of putting new ones on? Saving me some time or do u think I should have them replace them till lift?

I would have them put new ones on. I just had the drivers side front and back done.The tape was not sticking anymore. They come not painted so the will need you truck to get the right color.Then they will paint them and call ya when ready. the instal took about half an hour.

I would just lose them now. I know it is a scary thing to have your door exposed to idiots but I would be worried the replacement molding would have killer adhesive that would never come off again. My buddy had his replaced after someone backed into his door by a highly respected collision repair place here. He went to take them off and it was INSANE to get the 3M tape off. I drove my 2000 RCSB with a lift for 3 years without trim. Only got one door ding and that was my drunk idiot friend at a bon fire party. MORON...

 

Not that the new ones would have the same issue but IMO if they are coming off with a lift then do it now. You still won't be completely protected when it is lifted and I don't like the idea of someone other than me sticking crazy glue on my paint.

Thanks O4Silvarado - answered something that was bugging me. Mine are not falling off, but the paint on them is pretty much gone. I think they "mist" the paint on these or something. I'm going to have the dealer paint me up some new ones...
