Dual Cai On 5.3l

Just saw a dual CAI in a recent article of Truckin. Any ideas out there? Worth the money? Is there a benefit at all?

Unless you plan on doing more mods then yes its worth it but if you just leaving everything stock then the cai is just going to add that intake sound with very little hp gain.People throw on CAI and expect 10 20 30hp but they dont understand that when you add more air it leans out the AFR,I recommend a CAI and good tune,and good catback.

I wont lean out a newer model vehicle because the PCM will adjust for the increased air to keep the AFR in optimum mixture. But, it will give the same result. Basically just a different sound.

I was looking at dual cai, headers, cat-back and tune...so just a different sound with no real result?

No what they were saying was that when you get the mods installed, make sure you get a custom tune I.e. blackbear performace, or if you have someone local with a dyno so they can make the adjustments to your pcm so that you can gain all the hp and tq benefits.

Not by much and if any. Keep this in mind if a tune is going to give you a 3-5 increase in mpg dont you think GM,Ford etc. wouldnt be all over this to get there mpg ratings up? What kills me is people say they got a 1-2 mpg increase in mpg just by installing a tune, hell your truck will vary that much in mpg everytime you fill up.

But what will happen your fuel milage will decrease with a tune because you will have your foot harder on the throttle.
