finaly!...bought a 6.2L 1500

After waiting a couple weeks I can say I'm the proud owner of a 2011 1500 CC with a 6.2...and after only a couple hundred miles all I can say is WOW !..puts my 07 5.3 to shame. This is the power I have always wanted and the exhast note is perfect..almost too mean lol. I plan to write how well it does in a month or so but so far it pulls my tool trailer very well. Could get one with the NHT package that has the 3.73 but the 3.42 with the 6 speed does well..now if I can only figure out what trans I have. Found out I have to be careful launching of the line and even more so with the traction control off lol..can't see the stock tires lasting too well.

congratulations......I am in the market for a 6.2 equipped truck as well.

 

As for your tranny, look on the window sticker and see. You have a 2500, so I am thinking you have a heavy duty version of the six speed but not sure.

OP's post says he bought a 1500 but your saying he has a 2500. I'm confused. Can you get the 6.2 in a 2500? I thought the get the 6.0.

No, you can't get the 6.2 in a 2500. Poster who said the OP has a 2500 is wrong.

It would be a 6.2 / 6L80e / 3.42 combo. Same 6-spd in all 1500's.

Congrats on the new truck. I absolutely love mine and I'm sure you will too. I've had mine for a year now and have had zero issues.

Wasn't sure if it was the 6L80 or 6L90..must be a strong tranny if they use it in all the 1500 trucks including the 6.2L. I will try to post some pics this weekend. The dealer did the Value Guard surface protection and should have cleaned it up better. Have smears on the glass from the paint proofing and undercoating oversray on the paint..went through hell to get this truck from this dealer and I have to say in this area anyway salesman just don't know much about trucks lol.

Yes, It's a big difference over the 5.3L And with the 3.73's it's even more. Almost embarrassing difference
