So I ordered some projector headlights......

I recently ordered some Projector headlights off ebay.

I will be installing some HID's and putting them in the truck as soon as I get the HID's.

I just thought I would post up what I ordered and followup once I get the install finished..

I am planning on hooking up the Halos around the lights, but NOT the LED's.

I hooked up the Halos and the LEDs at work on my workbench....(we have electronics at my shop, power supplies and such)

The halos look very clean, but the LEDs look like crap, way to bright and they aren't diffused.

Anyway, enough blabber. When I get them installed I will post up more pics.

Feel free to provide insight.

Oh ya one more thing, I tried out the lights too on the workbench with the stock lighting the housings came with.

The cutoff line for the projector is super clean and very straight.

I ended up NOT hooking up the LED's or the Halos as I did not like the way they looked.

The projector beam has a super clean cutoff as I stated earlier

The adjustment screws are a pain in the butt to get at.

I used 50w HID's as the 35w ballasts were just not bright enough.

Overall I am happy with the install, these lights have a light tint to them.

I will try to get some daylight photos soon.

I used 50w HID's

I think there is a very good chance that the 50W HID will discolor or melt the plastic headlight housings as time goes on.

Did you install a "adapter wire harness" to keep your stock harness from overheating and melting?

Yes, I used a relay harness to avoid any damage to the stock wiring harness. I understand that the 50w HID's run hotter, I will just have to keep checking to see how they hold up.

I don't think I can use the 35w HID's as there just isn't enough light output, I might try a 4300K bulb in the future if I have any major issues with the 50w setup. This is more of a test to see how these aftermarket headlight housings hold up to HIDS and the elements.

I will keep you all posted as time goes on.

EDIT: the 50w ballasts pull 5 amps on startup and 4 amps while running.

I have 35w for my wifes jeep with the 6500 bulb, bright as heck at night. Since you got those on ebay, I would pop them back out, and run a bead of clear calk around the bead where the front meets the back part of the headlight. Just to be on the safe side since they never do a good seal on those. I've had to do that on mine, heard it from other people too to avoid condensation overtime.
