Front Door Flung Open By Winds

My 2003 S10 ZR2 drivers door got flung open hard by a gust of wind. Flug really hard. When driving home after work i heard a wind noise coming from the door. Seemed to open and shut alright.

After i got home i looked and noticed what appears to be the tack weld on the upper hinge had given away and a gap from hinge to body. Took to body shop and they informed me to not worry as it will not interfere with the door operation. Just needed to adjust door again to get back to normal with no wind noise.

Question is: will time loosen and weaken the door hinge and break it away from the body? Should it be spot welded again? Put liquid steel on it?

Just got truck three weeks ago and this happens. Very Upset. Just adjusting the door and doining nothing with the hinge okay or what should i do?

If anyone would like to see a pic i can take tomorrow and try to post for your review.

Thanks for help.

Similar thing happened with my truck.. Wind ripped it out of my hand and it sprung the hinge a bit. I do not notice any welds giving way tho. I do have some wind noise as i drive from it if it is real windy out .

This is something that probably only a body shop could give you advice what it needs.

9 yrs old and you just bought it ,tough break for sure .....

door has to come off and hinges replaced or repaired and A pillar repaired if required,

insurance will take care of it ,call them first to confirm but its weather that did it
