I haven't seen this exact issue but I've had to "reset" my unit by turning off the truck and opening the door after XM has sent a refresh signal. That's happened twice now and I've only driven the truck four times since installing it. I've got a 2009 GMC crew cab.

OK, so what trim package do you have?

I have had to reset my radio multiple times to get the XM to work. Sometimes it would not display the correct information....the current song would be on and then when it changed the information didn't change. If I hit the station on the radio again it would change. I have had to reset my radio at least five times to get it to work.

OK, what year, make, model and trim package do you have?

Let's give them what they want so we can get this all fixed.

I'm sorry I was running out the door for work so I will be a little more specific :)

When I first start my truck it is properly displaying the song that is playing...we will call it song 1. Now when song 2 comes on it is still showing song 1's information on the XM. Now if I press the station again on the ogm1 then it switches to the current song information and is fine from there on out. It does that almost every time I start my truck. The other problem I have been having is that sometimes it is only showing the preview stations of XM and I have to reset the radio to get my XM going again. I swapped out to my factory radio for a couple of days and it was fine. Put the advent back in and that problem starts back up again. And last but not least is sometimes the bluetooth does not pick up my phone. I shut the bluetooth off on the radio and then turn it back on after a couple of seconds and then it finally links with my phone. I have a 2008 silverado LT

EDIT: I also forgot that the nav has been crashing a lot lately. A windows type screen comes up and gives a error message and I have to start the nav over again.

Thanks for the details.

Will forward all of this info to Advent, and I can assure you all that this is a priority fix.

They just have to have enough info to be able to duplicate it...

Ok, add me to this list of having the problem :(

2008 GMC Sierra SLE non-bose

I have had the same problem with mine. 2007 Sierra Denali Bose Centerpoint system. Most of the time the music playing stays on the previous channel but shows the new channel info. I also get a loud static like noise upon startup sometimes.

Add me to this list as well. The XM cutting out is happening more frequently too 2012 GMC SLT

Got a note from Advent that they have ramped up the response to this problem and are bringing in a team of engineers specifically to tackle this issue.

They're definitely not sitting around on this - it's a priority fix...

Thats good news! Maybe the next update will include this bug fix, and maybe it will be out soon. :fingersx: Thanks Walt!

Not that we needed nay more confirmation, but add me to the list. I have a 2010 Silverado LT, and my OGM1 failed to receive content from the XM tuner twice yesterday. I don't have a 100% accurate summary of what process causes it yet, but I'm keeping track of how I leave things to figure it out.

Thanks, Jason - we need all the info we can get to narrow down when/where/why it happens...

Any fix to this? Have had this problem for a while too. Same as everyone else, seems to come and go. Could go weeks with no issue then have it twice in one day. Its very random.

This was released by Advent about a month ago and I forgot to post:

Complaint: I get in my truck, close the door and turn the key on for just a moment then turn it off. My radio comes on but my XM doesn’t work. I have to actually turn the key off then on again longer or start the vehicle to get XM. Why?????

Issue: The GM XM Factory Tuner does NOT turn on quickly, it actually takes about 30 - 45 seconds to turn on and acquire a signal (sometimes even longer). If the key is not on long enough for this to happen the radio (both FACTORY and ADVENT) do not see the tuner data. On the factory radio it will just show you AM and FM and not respond to the XM key, on the Advent radio it goes to the XM screen but there is no Audio or Data.

Solution: Wait for XM to come on. There is nothing wrong; this is the way the GM OEM XM Tuner works.

Based on our experience though, this is not a complete explanation of the problem, because we still see the problem in normal use, without the operation of the key as they outline above. Most of the time it's from owners with Duramax trucks that are using the "Wait to start" feature and so pause at the "Ignition" position before starting.

When you do this it begins the bootup process on the Advent radio and XM radio. Now when you start the truck, the XM tuner continues to boot up through the start process, but since the Advent radio lose power and has to go back to the beginning during the crank cycle, it now is booting up AFTER the XM tuner. Occasionally, it will not receive the data from the XM tuner in time to decipher it because the XM tuner is already up and running and they haven't done their "handshake". In other words, it's a matter of timing the bootup cycles between both devices and it seems that although there is a pretty large tolerance for this "handshake" to occur, there is a very small "window" of time that this glitch can happen and that's why it's so hard to duplicate.

I have seen it both ways. Have done the wait to start and had no problems but have also done the just hope in and crank it up since it was warm and the XM still wouldn't work. What bugs me is that you can drive for an hour and XM will never come on.

You can hit "System Reset" while driving and it will work every time...
