Tonneau Covers

Anybody on here have experience with tonneau covers that can bear weight? I only know of Diamondback Tonneau covers that offers them so far. I never planned on putting a tonneau cover on, but now I'm thinking about it. It would free up some space for the other toys on the trailer. I was only thinking about putting my sons little 4wheelers (2 90cc) on it. I guess the bed sides could handle the weight. The 2 4wheelers probably weigh 350 pounds combined. Just curious.

I,m not sure about the weight bearing ones,,,havnt seent those, but i,ve had a "rugged cover" on mine now for about 5 yrs. It,s one of those tri-fold jobs that open and close as easily (almost) as opening a trunk. it,s not nearly as fancy as some of the hard covers or retractable ones,,,,but far cry ahead of the snap on PITA,s,,,,for 400.00 bucks,,it,s been very impressive,OPens and closes with simple cam levers ,and the fact that i,m into it every day for tools and it,s still on there and lookin good speaks for itself. Comes off and goes back on in seconds if I need an open truck,

diamond back is about the only one i know of that will hold up to any weight and they look pretty awesome

I have seen them at bike shows and such, sounds pretty handy for what your talking about. Seems like a pain to get it up there tho. How would u get it up there? Long ramps placed of your bed rail?

You might take a look at Line-X Cover. It is made by Diamondback and ships straight from the DB plant to your local Line-X dealer. http://www.linexcover.com/

 

I bought one about two years ago and it's been totally flawless.

The diamondback ones come with ramps. It doesn't look like a fun task getting up there but it looks do-able.

Just bought and installed the Undercover SE. It's a hard cover, weighs 58 lbs (at least that's what they state, but it seems a bit heavier than that) and, although I can't recall the exact weight-bearing spec, the website has a photo of about ten guys standing on it (I thought it was rated for 450 lbs, but that would make the guys about 45 lbs each.....). Cost $1096 taxes included here in Canada.

I had a Retrax Pro installed today because it should support up to 500 lbs on it. I have not tried out any weight on it yet but will soon. It really looks good on my truck, I have some pictures but not posted yet, I will try and get them up tonight or tomorrow.

I've walked down the center of my Bakflip and my 225 lb arse barely even flexed it. Not sure about the 500 lbs of toys though.

The bakflip F1 indictes that it can hold 500lbs evenly distributed. The Bakflip product is excellent and very easy to install (it only took 1 beer to do it )
