i like to keep it between 55-60 on the 2 lane highways. on interstates i can average around 16mpg at 70mph but as soon as i hit 75mph my mpg drops off a steep steep cliff.

I have never driven in a manner to maximize fuel economy. Sometimes I drive faster on the highway, sometimes I go slower (the speed limit ) 55-60 is probably the best MPG-wise but I've never done a MPG vs distance traveled to see if there is truly a benefit. I don't care, I'd rather burn more gas and not be dealing with the idiot drivers in the right lane all the time.

Exactly why I will never see the estimated city fuel mileage stated on the window sticker...

Only here it's the people that SHOULD be in the right lane but hang out in the left lane holding back EVERYONE. Ugh!

People here in the midwest are horrible with left lane hogging. They never move over for overtaking traffic. Add the heavy commercial truck traffic and all you get is a headache.

I see the city gas mileage on the sticker, + 1~2 more, but you can damn well bet I'll never even come close to seeing the stated highway gas mileage figure!

Here you have a few people hauling, 85+, then people going 70-75 (me)... then people doing 60 in the left lane. :M16: And of course the lady who loves to get right up on your tail, like you need to go faster when you're passing someone at 75. I rarely manage more than 15 driving around here, though, as much of my driving is dirt, and when I am on the highway it's usually ungodly windy or I'm pulling something.

Well in my first long trip in a while I averaged 16.66 MPG and 90% of that was 70-80 MPH there was a hill climb in there too on each direction. gasbuddy.com says I should be getting 19 MPG hwy but I dont believe I have ever seen that. But part of my trip was LA traffic and Stop and go bumper to bumper for an hour. In that hour i moved like 13.5 miles
