Newbie looking for service report

Hi All,

New to the boards here. I recently agreed to purchase an 04 Yukon Denali from a private seller. The carfax checked out, but I was hoping to get a vehicle service report if one of y'all is able to pull it. Something seemed a tad fishy so I was looking to quell my fears.

The vin is 1GKEK63U74J119346

Thanks in advance!

The warranty service history is clean,I mean absolutly clean, the vehicle has never been back to the dealer for any warranty work.

GM dealership should be able to do it too.

I already ran it,its clean.

Why can't VIN related things be done on here?

It's all money. I work for my bonuses, but I also donate half my bonuses, I dont see why GM has to be a Nazi on VIN info and part numbers. GM can "donate" in a way and let us have our freedom.

It's their info, not yours. They don't have to share it if they don't want. That said I'd be willing to bet if you bought used from a GM dealer they'd probably be willing to run the report if they're at all decent. And finally, it's a matter of politics- the owners of this site have a good relationship with GM that gets them invites to press events and such. You upset GM (or any other automaker) as an automotive writer and you might find yourself no longer welcome at press events and so on. Like on the real Top Gear they said that Chrysler refused them access to a press fleet Challenger because of how critical they'd been of Chrysler in the past. But the BBC being the BBC they just went and bought one for the show anyhow.

Im sure Richard Hammond still owns that Challenger. I buy from GM or AC Delco. Buying straight from them is cheaper But the dealer wont come down on price nor will they give a part number. thats what makes me mad. The VIN issue, well once a vehicle no longer belongs to GM the VIN is no longer GM's property. Yes they can use my VIN to find the parts I need, but they also deny me parts because of my VIN. Such as seat foam.

I'm not talking about the VIN but the info contained in that file- the warranty info is GMs, not yours. They use warranty claim into to track failure trends and see if there is something that might warrant a TSB or even a service campaign/recall.

As for the dealer not giving a part number, that is them, not GM. Dealers are free to make their own choices. I suggest you find a better one as I've never had issues getting part numbers but I've also worked in the industry and know how to speak to a parts person better than an average customer.
