1/2ton CC with 6.5' bed ?

Anyone heard or read anything about Chevy, or others, releasing a 1/2ton crew cab with a full size bed? Not a 1500hd. Early last year someone at a dealer said they would for the release of the 2012 models but that didn't happen. I would be interested and my dad says he'd buy one off the first truck load tomorrow if they released em.

Only company I am aware of at this time that builds a CC 6.5ft bed is Ford in the F150 line.

 

If GM made one, I would own one. I would much prefer a 6.5 over my 5.5!

I did see a 2500 C/C with a 6.5 bed, so I imagine it's also available in the 1500.....Wife wanted me to buy the 2500, but I've got one more payment left, and I'm looking forward to the savings.

Its only available on the 2500 as it stands

 

Rumors are the new model will have this option.

Nope, only available in the 2500...which was a primary reason I bought the 2500. Didn't want the Ford.

Snow plowing was my first reason for a 2500 CC with 6.5 bed a close second. Can't get a CC 1500 w/plow prep either.

..and next year Dodge will offer one. GM trucks seem to be falling behind in more areas than one!

Well no one knows if it will be offered in the next gen trucks and honestly I see very few F150s with the longer bed anyhow. It's nice to have choices but it doesn't seem like a big slice of the pie to me.

+1!!!! I would like a CC 6.5ft bed also!!!

 

If Gm decides to build a 1500 like this, they better have more than the 1500-1800lb payload. Give us somewhere around 2200+lb payload!

 

Better yet, just bring back the 1500HD model!

If Gm decides to build a 1500 like this, they better have more than the 1500-1800lb payload. Give us somewhere around 2200+lb payload!

 

Better yet, just bring back the 1500HD model!
