New truck

That truck sounds mean! When it comes to diesel fuel (I don't know much about diesels or diesel fuel) is there different grades kind of like gas has 87,89,91, or 93 octane? Your truck sounds like it would need a premium diesel fuel for all those horses. I will say I saw on an episode of Gearz where Stacy put a propane kit on a diesel truck, it bumped the HP up a bit too.

Yes their is different grades. It's not octane, it's Cetane. The only gas station I know around here that sells higher Cetane value diesel is shell. It's not worth it tho, I just run Cetane booster in every tank. The key to injector life on a diesel is cleanliness. My buddy was smart with this truck when he bought it he added a airdog 165gph lift pump which has two filters on it, then he bought a special adapter that screws on where your original fuel filter goes so you can run a Cat 10 micron fuel filter. The lift pump also runs Cat filters as well, they're a little more pricy but they filter better than anything else. This truck had a water methanol injection system, those types of injection systems really are for bringing down EGT's. He took off the water meth when he did twin turbos because the egt's are very controllable with twins. In fact on the hottest tune it won't go above 1200F, that is very good for having stock intercooler still. I watch gearz all the time too ahah, Stacy still my favorite car show lol.

i really hate internet memes on informative sites.. really really do.. everyone has their own opinion of something, we come to forums to share information and show off our rides, if someone asks for an opinion give it. but dont be an ass about it. we're all adults here for the most part and we should really act like it because i know for a fact if this was all face to face and he was telling this story and showing the truck you nwouldnt have said what you said. lets end the shitfest and go on with the thread.
