I don't know much about the newer trucks but my 06 has a plug in the back of the rear view mirror. Only thing is that I think it would also disable my auto dimming mirror.

Maybe a dumb question but has your onstar subscription run out? I never signed up for it and the little green light on my mirror went out after the free trial period. I haven't tried but I doubt if I pushed my button they would respond... Maybe I'll try just to see. I understand not wanting to pay for it (I don't) by why the concern to disable it?

if you push the button they will answer and try get u to sign up ,i just dont like the idea of somebody tracking your movements without your permission ,google threads on this topic lots of them ,i just read even with antenna disconected if you are close to a tower it will work with antenna disabled

sell the truck and order one with an onstar delete package. wrap it in tinfoil and make sure a tinfoil hat as well. do you have a cell phone? that's tracked too and even with gps disabled can locate you easily. credit cards? watch you every step. onstar is my least concern and unless you live in teh woods off the grid it should be yours too

They're not tracking you. And if you're this concerned you better not own a cell phone, cause those DO track you for location based ads. Same for going online. Sites inject tracking cookies to your computer so they can see everywhere you visit. Same if you buy things with a credit/debit card. The grocery store tracks what you buy and will make offers to you based on that.

I love how ignorant people get about OnStar when they're careless about everything in their lives that allows their actions to be traces. Oh, and you better not have Facebook either.

If your truck gets stolen our you get jacked at gunpoint you'll wish you still had onstar. One call can find your truck, unlock it, lock it or even shut it down when the cops get behind it. It is your truck right? :dunno: Must have traded in the '08? Gotta go, somebody's coming...damn cell phone.

310 million people in the USA. You really think they are watching you? Google has lots of threads on this simply because there are lots of people that think they are being watched. The more people that think that, the less the chance is they are watching me. Why not try putting some power through the antenna port on the onstar module? That should disable the onstar from working. It may also take out the bluetooth though, don't really know.

I wonder if XM can monitor your location? They have to allow your xm device to connect, so they know the serial number of it, they also have a different version in Canada, so maybe they can tell where your vehicle is by the connection you make when you turn XM radio on.... watched a movie the other day where they tracked a guy by the filling in his tooth, and a woman by some special liquid in her fake boob. Wouldn't be surprised if some day you could just open a book and just by the persons name you could find out where they lived and even their phone number...

Park your truck at WalMart and walk to work?!?!

If someone really "wants" to find me the last thing I'm going to do is drive MY truck or use MY cell phone or MY credit cards.

OR

If someone really "needs" to find me, between the satellite imagery, Google cameras, red right runner cameras and who know what else I'll be found....

Rant...Off!!!
