Truck is dead. Turns over won't start

Driving home on interstate. Truck stuffers. Stabilitrak and tc lights flash and check engine light on. Scan codes and get p0300 pending. Clear codes and diconnect battery for ten minutes. Try to start and turns over but won't start. Almost like it is not getting fuel. Any thoughts? No more codes either. Hoping it is something covered under power train and emissions warranty.

Sorry for typos and shortness. I'm trying to type on my wife's iPhone.

Well finally got the truck towed to the dealer. When the wrecker (dealer's own wrecker) got there, he was able to start it and did not like the sound of it. Now I know he's not a mechanic but I'm sure he's somewhat knowedgeable. He said it sounded like it was something with the motor internally and could be something associated with AFM. I was just worried about trying to get home at the time and that completely slipped my mind. If it is something with the AFM, is should be covered under the powertain warranty correct?

When he was able to start it, it was ticking and missing something awful and sounded like it had crazy cam. Does not smell like it's running rich or lean and no smoke. All I have is a catch can, airraid intake tube and Corsa Touring exhaust. No tune/chips either. It probably doesn't matter but I've used Mobil1 for the life of the truck except once when I used Valvoline Synthetic and don't see a reason to switch to a different oil brand but if I did it would probably be Castrol. Cleaned the MAF sensor and throttle body about a month ago as well.

Is anything fuel related (pump, injectors) considered part of the powertrain? Does anything have a breakdown of what is covered under the 100,000 Powertrain warranty? Anything exhaust related covered under the Emissions warranty?

I also think i might be a fuel pump, mine went out this summer and the symptoms were: Hesitant acceleration, missing, and eventually died and could not start it again.

Check fuel pressure for sure

Still haven't heard back on the issue yet.

I'm thinking it is something fuel related or possibly with AFM. What does it sound like/what are the symptoms when the AFM system chews up the lifters, etc?

i dont know exactly what sound your truck made, but when the fuel pump on my suburban went, i would try and start it and it would tap and sputter and run shitty and make weird noises.

when it shut off did it sputter to a stop kind of like it was being choked or did it just flatout shut down

It did both. The first couple of times I tried starting it studdered to a stop. It might have flatout shut down once but I didn't try to start it much for fear of hurting it more.

I would say your description explains it pretty well; tapping/ticking, sputtering, shuddering, barely ran and making weird noises.

Almost sounds like a timing issue to me.

Side note* How does your Corsa exhaust sound compared to stock?, I just ordered the Corsa touring exhaust for my truck and I just want it to be a little louder then stock but not as loud as the Sport system. Sorry for hijacking the thread.

Sounds like me in the morning, but I don't have a fuel pump, so what's my problem?

Just called the dealer and they were finishing it up. He said I had a broken valve spring so it should be covered under the Powertrain warranty. He didn't go into details yet on what might have caused but if he's going to call me back when it's finished, or I talk to him when I pick it up.

Since I had it towed the by the dealerships wrecker and it's covered under warranty, will I have to pay for the tow? I thought that as part of the warranty that any tow for an issue that is fixed under warranty, the tow is covered as well. Is that correct?

that is really odd. the only time i have really heard of a spring breaking is when someone exceeded the max lift with a performance cam. Alot of people only go half way with their mods and do not relieze the rest of the parts are not compatable. that should have never happened on a factory engine with up to date maintenance.
