If I were living in Europe driving on rain soaked narrow, curvy and bumpy brick streets whether in London or a small Irish town I would consider one. That being said, living in the midwest where the roads are long, flat and straight, I'll keep the sparkplugs. Wouldn't want one for the autobahn either...

Because the general public has not accepted them. I know my wife hates them, but if I had to choose between a small diesel or a hybrid, I'd rather have the diesel. But you have to admit, diesels are more manly, and that is not usually the type to buy small cars to begin with.

i would be interested in something like this for sure, in fact when purchasing the womans equinox i was dead set on buying her a diesel toureg or passat. but she actually wanted the equinox which was cheaper anyways, wasnt gonna argue!! LOL im all for diesel technology, the jettas are amazing cars. the cruze would be a real winner as well i think, but american auto maker wont do it. id place bets they will stick with a gas engine.

...If we keep looking at them as a example we will head the same direction...

...and that wouldn't be a bad thing. Believe me.

I think one of the Domestic manufacturers should step up to the plate and sell a small Diesel car here. Take some of VW's sales.

For all those Greeners, who drive a hybrid. What are you going to do with your filthy dirty 6oo pounds of unrecyclable plutonium like batteries in five years? Perhaps you should put them in your own living room?

At least a Diesel Cruze would be 100% recyclable!

I would certainly look at a Diesel cruze, and am hopeful for a Diesel option on the new 2014 suburban.

Chevrolet confirmed that it will add a diesel variant to the Cruze lineup in North America in calendar year 2013. Diesel versions of the Cruze are currently being sold in Europe. Additional details on the Cruze diesel for North American markets will be released at a later date. I will be sure to let you know when I know more. Thank you.

ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS PROPANE INJECTION AND A BANKS TURBO SYSTEM!!! lol, I apologize for screaming i ahve wanted to propane inject a diesel car for some time, if you can make quadruple digit hp on a diesel truck with this set up you could mmake a monster cruze lol

Well gale banks has a over 40k invested in the engine lol. To churn out over 1200hp you need at least 30 grand. Propane is the most risky type of injection system for a truck. Water/meth is much safer...

gas is more explosive than propane in my opinion. We have a 91 F250 that mostly runs off of propane. Its such a simple system for the truck to run on it . I dont know why people freak out over propane so much. I feel way more unsafe when I deal with gas.

I'm not talkin about propane on a gasser. We're talking about runnin propane injection on a modern diesel. It's very risky as in it is very hard on the engine if not properly set up. Even if it is its still not good for it.

Propane isn't very good on gas vehicles

Either, when it gets below -40 they don't run very good if at all.

I'm in no way freaked out about actually using the propane itself LOL.
